Hi all !!!

First i must said that this site is wonderful !!!
So i'm planning to build my first Hackintosh for video editing.
i'm using most of the time Final cut X, Motion, After effect… so i wanna built a fast machine.

Only one thing, it must be a small form factor Mini Itx, cause i need to work on site and on the road (clients).

It will be a only Mac OSX system no Windows on it.

Here my list…

Case: Bitfenix Prodigy mITX MINI-ITX

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=71143&vpn ... e=BitFenix

PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w ATX
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=35456&promoid=1223

2X SSD: OCZ Agility 3 360GB
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=68930&promoid=1223

One for OS and one for data

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe mITX (or something else )
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=71116&vpn ... omoid=1205

I was thinking of 16GB of Ram

For CPU i need a quadcore (with one ?)

Graphic card !!!
i Think the on board wont be enough

so i need advise to !
Final cut X and motion like GPU power so i was thinking something with
2 GB of ram. any ideas ? (that will fit on the motherboard)

Thanks !

If you are paying so much for SSD drives and plan on running video editing on the machine a i7 3770K would be my choice.

SSD: OCZ Agility series are not OCZs fastest series, Vertex is a little faster but OCZ have now got some bad reputation. Their are a lot of drive out there so look at some reviews.

CASE: Do you want that case because it looks little like Apple? Silverstones SG series are much smaller and looks ok. But a big graphics card can maybe be a problem. Some of the cases also have USB3 ports on the front, perfect for P8Z77-I Deluxe board.

MEM: Video editing loves memory, get as much you can use in the system.

Graphics: I can't comment.

MB: I have been playing around with Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe and it works ok. Still some issues but I think they will be fixed.

As far as graphics is concerned, I'd go for a GTX 560 Ti if you're going to be doing any heavy work with After Effects, especially if it's not CS6 (which has basic support for ATI GPU acceleration). The AMD 6870 is a good choice as well, though you won't get the same level of support you will from NVidia cards in Adobe apps and other programs like DaVinci Resolve.

Best of luck! :)

Thanks to all
I will take a look.

Should i get a 1GB or a 2GB graphic card ?

I was thinking of the
ASUS Radeon HD 7870 2GB
