Updating Mavericks 10.9: GA-Z77X-UD5H

Status
Not open for further replies.
I successfully installed 10.9 on Z77 UD5H board with GeForce GTX 670 graphic. I have only two problems - like in the title.
Sleep works but not Autosleep
other one is probably not easy to fix: Cuda works in CC but not in CS6
I searched for few hours and could not find solution.

CUDA Driver Version: 5.5.28 installed
Im using MacPro 5.1 as I found it more stable with Cuda in 10.8.x

Multibeast instals

I had a similar issue a few months back on ML and found this a useful article. For CC I tweaked the location (Vidmuze article is for CS6) and it has worked ever since. It's still working in Mavericks in both CS6 and CC (though I have a few sound issues as the moment!)

Below are my notes of how I resolved the issue for CC and CS6. The locations below are for CC, but if you use the Vidmuze locations they are for CS6:

How to get CUDA working on Mac with GTX 660 Ti card when not on the list.

1) Download and Install Cuda Drive for Mac: Around 20 MB

Premiere Pro CC

1) Need to run GPUSniffer. Open Terminal Window and copy and paste this command:

/Applications/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CC/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CC.app/Contents/GPUSniffer.app/Contents/MacOS/GPUSniffer

2) Open Terminal Window and copy and paste this command:

sudo nano /Applications/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CC/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CC.app/Contents/cuda_supported_cards.txt

After Effects CC

1) Need to run GPUSniffer. Open Terminal Window and copy and paste this command:

THIS LINK DOESN'T WORK
/Applications/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CC/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CC.app/Contents/GPUSniffer.app/Contents/MacOS/GPUSniffer

2) Open Terminal Window and copy and paste this command:
sudo nano /Applications/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CC/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CC.app/Contents/raytracer_supported_cards.txt

I have the Thunderbolt version.

Followed the Mavericks guide, but chose update option instead of clean install. Everything went exactly like it should. Ran Multibeast 6.0 and loaded the following drivers and options:

Quick Start > DSDT Free
Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > Without DSDT > ALC898
Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > Without DSDT > HDAEnabler
Drivers > Disk > 3rd Party SATA
Drivers > Disk > TRIM Enabler > 10.9.0 TRIM Patch

Drivers > Misc > USB 3.0 - Universal by Zenith432
Drivers > Network > Intel - hnak's AppleIntelE1000e v2.5.4d Drivers
Chimera v2.2.1
Customize > Boot Options > Drop SSDT
Customize > System Definitions > iMac > iMac 14,2
Customize > Themes > tonymacx86 Black

I generated a new SSDT to support my overclock to 4.6 Ghz and confirmed the clock rates with HW Monitor and benchmarks.

The only problem I ran into was iMessage login would not work. I changed my Apple account password and that fixed the login. I did not have the problem when I upgraded my MB Air to Mavericks.

Lastly, since I don't have a wifi adapter installed, the maps auto location is not available. Since I don't carry around my water cooled 40 lb workstation, I could care less. I just bookmarked my home address and voila, issue solved and all other maps features work. The send to iPhone is pretty cool.

One last word of advice. On both my Hack and MB Air, the Mavericks installer got stuck on "Less than one minute" phase of install for at least 10-15 min. If you see this, don't reboot! It will eventually finish.

Great, thanks for this. Now my ethernet is working again.
Sadly, still no audio, but I'll do some more configurations tomorrow.

Is iMessage not working for everyone?
Anybody have sound?

Audio works fine for me out of the orange port. Just installed the 898 no-DSDT drivers and did nothing else to get it working.

iMessage, Mac App Store and audio form the green port works for me without any issues.

Are you guys booting via uefi? And is updating a previous ML install the only way to be able to boot via uefi? I did a couple clean installs and i cannot get it to boot via uefi in maverick. Mine will only boot via p:0 in the bios menu. My 10.8 install booted uefi no problems, and my boot time has increased a little in 10.9.

Everything else works great. I have the GA-z77x-UD5H rev. 1.1 board, 3770k cpu, and a zotac 560ti.

Autosleep 10.9: GA-Z77X-UD5H

Thanks noodleJam I lone this fix and using it since CS6 show up. I did fix Cuda it was my mistake. So far its even more stable then in 10.8.4/5
However Autosleep still does not work.

The update mostly worked as expected but I still get terrible read/write speeds from my Samsung 840 Pro SSD compared to what I had with Lion. I am using the Marvell port and System profiler reports 5 GT/s vs my spinning drives on the Intel ports at 3 Gigabit. I had great speeds under Lion? Also, I had to build my Unibeast thumb drive 3 times before it actually worked? It seem that I have to delete and re-add my Apple bluetooth keyboard and trackpad every time I reboot under Mavericks or they never connect.

do you have to partition the usb using the GUID partition table like the mavericks installer says or go with master boot record like with mountain lion?
