Same mobo but I'm running a Sandy Bridge proc, i updated via the combo update and reinstalled the sound drivers via Multibeast. I attempted to reboot and its just spinning. I am able to get into the system via safe mode but tried to boot with different boot flags and still nothing. I searched in the kexts to find the Oem file in the FakeSmc kext but i don't have it. any idea what the issue can be?

Did you install the system using my Multibeast setup? Did you click on any FakeSMC plugins? If you click on any FakeSMC plugins, it is a must that you cannot get through the boot screen. Sometimes the Oem file located S/L/E instead of the path Tony mentioned.
If it still not working, you have to provide detail of your hardware and screen shot of your verbose mode boot up.

I have the 3570k and the same mobo model (v1.1) I got past the first iboot, and got SL installed via DVD
During the set up, it set it could only use dial up (did not see ethernet).
I went ahead with the set up, and now I still cant get ethernet set up.

Skip Snow Leopard. Go buy Mountain Lion and follow my guide. SL do not run well on Ivy Bridge.

I think you can already boot into SL right? So u can make the ML USB. If u do not have Internet connection, may be you can try just the Realtek option only in multibeast without any other options selected. You may also try to use iPhone USB tethering to gain Internet access.

You can use tonymacx86's http://www.tonymacx86.com/showthread.php/55128

You can skip Snow Leopard by using a Mac at a local school, college, university, library or friend. (I read of one forum member actually using an Apple store iMac (or MBP).) You will need download access both on the "borrowed" Mac to download both UniBeast and Install Mountain Lion.app and be able to run UniBeast on the borrowed Mac to create the UniBeast USB thumb drive.

In any case, archive the Install Mountain Lion.app by zipping it 1st and then copying it to another thumb drive. Zipping it is the key to using it again.

P.S. You can use the Apple Store to download and zip the Install Mountain Lion.app to a USB thumb drive by telling them your ISP has capped your download limits and/or you have a slow DSL speed (due to cost). But, do your homework so you don't get caught telling a lie about an ISP limits.

Hey guys. I have a problem again. I thought I had audio working after I did the "AppleHDA rollback" and installing audio with Multibeast 5.0.2; but It doesn't work. I tried reinstalling audio with 5.1.2, and it works. But of course, this brought back all the previous problems (slow boot, no mouse and keyboard for 2-3 min). I wish I could do a clean ML reinstall now but I don't have all my stuff here. Can anyone upload working 10.8.2 AppleHDA.kext I can test?

Thank you.

Ok guys, in case someone has the same problem, I fixed it using this:

I can get into SL 10.6.3, which does not have access to the store. The trouble is when i update to 10.6.6 or 10.6.8 and reboot, I get the gray apple hanging screen.
Update: I was able to get back into 10.6.6 using iboot. Now I have no internet....

Who would have thought that it would be such a pain to get SL working to only upgrade to ML. lol

The hunt continues. At this rate, I might just break down and order the USB version of ML from Apple

I will keep hacking away. I have set my bed time for 1030 so i dont stay up every night trying to figure this out

Here are some shots of it going in verbose mode. I didn't install any FakeSmc plugins via Multibeast, just the regular FakeSmc

Specs are in the thumbnail

It looks like something related to the graphic card or Audio. Did you try GraphicsEnabler=No? If it is still not working, you may need to do a clean install , run the combo updater to 10.8.2 and try to install the multibeast option one by one and see where the hangs begin.
