[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Some questions:
  • Are you using a Broadcom WiFi/BT card such as Fenvi FV-T919, or the on-board Intel WiFi/BT?
  • The SSID of your iPhone hotspot appears in macOS, and you can connect to that SSID?
  • If a password is required, does the password prompt appear?
  • Once WiFi connection from Hackintosh to iPhone is established, then no data transfer takes place? Are you using a web browser, for example, to check if data transfer is occurring?
Personal Hotspot (through WiFi) has worked well for me.
Just did some more testing. It is actually working, but not automatically switching to a faster speed of LTE transfer via phone when the phone is connected. The iPhone USB and WiFi have priority over Ethernet connection in my Network settings, but when I switch to those, the download speed remains the same (I am looking at the speeds via iStat menus, also in download agents for software). If I connect the phone before I start the download and disconnect the ethernet cable, then I can see transfer speeds for WiFi, but as soon as the ethernet cable is connected, the speed drops back down. I am using a Fenvi T919.

Hi @CaseySJ, my Hackintosh was made in 2020 with this build before with Clover and then moved to OpenCore.
I am still on Catalina and will "migrate: to a 2019 Macbook Pro (Catalina) with similar characteristics to my actual build, only as a clone computer.
For this reason, I can't de-license everything on the old system and reinstall the apps from scratch on the new system.
I need to have the same stuff on both computers because I make music, and the laptop would be only used when I travel or go to others' studios.
You said, "it may be better not to migrate."

1. So, I wonder what the risk is.

Instead, If I understand correctly, your first sentence said, "Migration Assistant during the macOS setup wizard (the welcome screen wizard) to transfer applications and data. Migration Assistant will not transfer /System/Library/Extensions but will transfer /Library/Extensions. These can be removed later."

2. So, which of those extensions should I remove?
3. Should I avoid those /Library/Extensions during the TIMEMACHINE?

I hope this can help you understand the situation better :)
Cheers
Okay, that changes the game quite a bit! You’re remaining on the Intel architecture. In that case, we can use Migration Assistant to transfer everything to the new MacBook Pro. All extensions can be transferred — no worries.

@CaseySJ, thank you so much; I will let you know how it goes.
(I just posted another reply, please check.)

Hi Everyone @CaseySJ, It's been a while, no issues for a long time!

I'm trying to update to Ventura now and running into problems. I'm running software update from 12.6.3 to 13.2.1.

I just updated to the latest Monterey without any issues at all.

When I try to update to Ventura this is what happens:
  • Update downloads, computer restarts.
  • Boots into Install MacOS entry in OpenCore picker. Here the progress bar doesn't get very far but it hangs for some time before restarting. Verbose provides no clues that I'm aware of (image attached). The image shows how far it get's before hanging for a good few minutes then restarting.
  • Now I can boot into "Install MacOS" again and again with the same results until the cows come home. However, if I boot into my actual installation of Monetary/Ventura, I see the apple logo and a message "10 minutes remaining..." which does complete within 10 mins or so.
  • When the install completes the apple logo disappears and I'm logged back into Monterey 12.6.3! It makes no sense lol!
I've attached my EFI folder, any help would be appreciated! I'm on BIOS F9g and double checked that CFG lock is disabled.

@CaseySJ, everything went smoothly, the only thing is that the MacBook Pro is on BigSur, so I might want to upgrade my Hakcintosh to BigSur to have both machines on the same OS. If that is a straightforward process, I would just go ahead and upgrade my Hackintosh to BigSur, but before I wait for your response! My OpenCore version is 0.7.8 (Checked with Hackintool). Cheers

Apologies for the late reply. Quick question: Is “SecureBootModel” enabled or disabled in config.plist -> Misc -> Security? We should enable it.

With OC 0.7.8 we can upgrade directly to Big Sur. But a full bootable backup should be made before starting. There are no guarantees in the Hackintosh world, and a simple full backup provides a much needed safety net.

It's set to Default which I assume means it's enabled? If I was to select one from the list in OC Configurator which would it be?

“Default” is okay. What is your OpenCore version? Would be good to upgrade to one of the recent versions (0.8.5 or newer).
