[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Mine also, not only the latest, since many iterations NVMeFix it's been incompatible with my build , If I recall correctly, the only one the worked ok, was the very first that Casey posted

My boot drive Samsung 970 EVO Plus
FYI - I am using Sabrent Rocket 4.0 NVMe (SB-ROCKET-NVMe4-1TB) and have no issues, and did not require any additional .kext files or adjustments. It just worked right away.

Also worked perfectly for me, AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD 1TB (GP-ASM2NE6100TTTD).

I was originally using these in my AMD system with Gen 4.0 PCIe (and they will be going back when I am able to build my THREADRIPPER 3970X system).

I post this info as confirmation these two work with the Z390 Designare MB and masOS.

Ive already experiences this issue, but on a real Mac!
Removing all UAD related files and reinstalling it again helped me

I had the same thing happen on my 2012 MBP about two years ago. Was pretty easily resolved doing just that.

@CaseySJ at @Inqnuam, a small update on the UAD kext. It seems like I need to load that kext in terminal on each restart.

@Inqnuam can you let me know if this is an issue for you?

To quote my favorite song writer (Bazan), can you all think of a way to "bless this mess?"
Hmmmm, this is troubling to me. I have been furiously working on several "tech" issues as of late, NO CREATIVITY; NO MUSIC. :O

I've JUST about got all issues resolved... and I have NOT updated to 11.4 yet (though it's not showing up in Software Update anyway). So I am wondering if I should when able?

I have CCC set up, so I could test this UAD issue after upgrading to 11.4, and if all goes to the devil, I could just restore.

Let me know if there are some useful tests I could do to be helpful. I have an apollo twin x, and (2) UAD-2 Satellite OCTO CORE units.

Thanks all!

It's not necessary nor desirable to put the firmware file into one of those subfolders. Please hold off for now.

Is anyone else experiencing a problem with the new Elias BIOS F9i from this post?
I haven't tried it yet @CaseySJ , but I am big on updating so I WILL be trying it and letting you know. Maybe tomorrow I can test this.

Check this out and see if it helps. Theres an escape plan so no real fear.

This is just for the good of the cause:
I keep re-discovering that you need to carefully check BIOS setting if you have a problem...

After a hardware change (had to replace the RX 580) I struggled to get OC to boot. I could get into Clover/Mojave without any trouble, but none of my OC backups would boot (this should have been a big clue that it was the BIOS). Fast forward through a lot of hair pulling (I'm bald, but to be fair I was bald when this problem started), plist editing, and BIOS resetting it still wasn't working. I was seeing boot progress in verbose, but it seemed to halt at random points on each reboot. Finally I looked at the problem again when fully caffeinated and realized VT-d was Enabled and X.M.P was not set to Profile 1.

Changed them to the guide's recommended settings and BANG! back in business :)

After a little further testing, it looks like VT-d was my culprit as the system boots and is stable regardless of the XMP setting.

Thanks as always to CaseyJ and everyone active on this thread for being awesome!

Well, i updated today... I was able to update the update via Qflash. :) Unfortunately my fans behave pretty weird. I configured them in the bios via Smartfan but as soon as I save the settings and reboot they spin up. If I'm going back to the bios and change the control mode from PWM to something else and back to PWM again they behave as intended. However, rebooting breaks it again.

Never mind... got this problem even with the official release of f9i. hmmmm... strange.
