Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

@Middleman,

Sorry to sound a bit dense or obtuse, but:
  • What problem are you trying to fix?
  • And which version of macOS are you trying to fix it in?
  • 6800 XT is not supported in Catalina.
    • Seems you are trying to make it work in Catalina?
    • In Catalina we would use the SSDT to hide the card, but the SSDT should not be used in Big Sur.
I am just trying to run it in Big Sur 11.4. For some odd reason my 6800 card just will not post to the main macOS BS screen when connected and booting up normally (on its own). That's why I utilised the RX550 as a boot device.
With the RX550 attached on slot 1, BS boots in and sees both cards. But when I connect it to the 6800's HDMI ports on slot 2, there's no signal on either. Is there something wrong with the 6800 card? I'm not sure. But currently at this point whether I use Lilu + WEG or not, or agdpmod=pikera or radpg=15 or not it will not post on any of the 2 HDMI ports and comes up with a black or stalled screen when booting on its own (on slot 1). Hence I tried to utilise a SSDT gpu spoof or change-id to see if it would work.

One thing I haven't tried is the other two DP ports on the back of the 6800 (to see if there's a signal), but I don't have a DP device on hand to test.

  • What is the make/model of the 6800? Is it a 6800 or 6800 XT?
  • What is the card's Device ID in IOReg?
  • Even if the 6800 (or XT) is installed in Slot 1 by itself (no RX 550) then the motherboard will finish POST (power-on self-test)?
  • In BIOS, is Initial Display Output set to PCIe 1 Slot?
  • Have you tested the 6800 (or XT) on an Intel board running Big Sur 11.4?

1) The card is a Gigabyte Radeon RX6800 Gaming OC 16G.
2) The device-id is 73BF in IOReg. 3) Yes without the RX550 it will finish POST. It works with Windows too, but just not able to boot into Big Sur.
4) Yes it’s set to PCIe 1
5) Not yet, will do so soon

@mrfatcatt,

Because private messaging cannot be used to ask for technical assistance, your earlier post was removed. But don't worry, just run Hackintool, select the PCIe tab and then click the Export button as shown. Then post the exported file. Then I can modify the EFI for your board.

@mrfatcatt,

Attached EFI contains the modifications for Intel I-225V Ethernet port. I modified the kext so that a DeviceProperty injection is not needed.

I've also created serial numbers in PlatformInfo --> DataHub. This EFI is therefore ready to run with no further changes needed.

However, you may want to change the serial numbers or let me know once you've downloaded the file and I'll simply delete it.

@CaseySJ are you enjoying your 6800XT yet? :) Which board are you going to install it in?

I have very special plans for the 6800 XT. It has not been taken out of the box yet. The shrink wrap is still intact. Waiting for 'something' to arrive. Nothing more shall I say... :)

Hi! Im getting the attached error on boot. Is it a BIOS mistake? Thanks, appreciate it!

These warnings can be ignored, but ideally they should be fixed. It’s a matter of using the correct version of OpenCore Configurator to open and save config.plist. Each OpenCore Configurator only supports two versions of OpenCore so it’s vital to use the right version and to set its preferences to the actual version of OpenCore you’re using.
