[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Has anyone done the 11.2.3 Update today? after reading some of the comments I'm thinking I want to wait for @CaseySJ to release his update guide or the usb remap kext people are talking about. :)

Do we have a guide on how to use OpenCore for us n00bs? I tried to go from 0.6.7 to 0.6.8 and I had to run back to 0.6.7, which I did successfully.

I installed OpenCore Configurator v2.28.0.0 (which IS for OC 0.6.7), but when I open it, everything is basically empty, espeically under PlatformInfo. I expected everything to be pre-populated; do I have to import all the details first? I really don't know what I'm doing, and need a 1-2-3 for beginners.

Thanks. Trying to get up-to-speed with... EVERYTHING!

See this post for updating your USB map. Hacintool needs an update while USBMap works.

Thank you very much @Inqnuam . I think my first issue is my config.plist got messed up, or likely was never correct from the beginning.

I began by using CaseySJ's guide for using Clover on his post #1. Then I did my best to upgrade to OpenCore 0.6.7, as per his guide, but now I'm thinking I messed up somewhere. Everything seemed to be working fine, for the most part.

Then yesterday I tried to go to 0.6.8, as I was starting to have some weird SSD issues (programs failing, machine froze once, then couldn't re-install an app), and there were several issues with that attempt. My SSD is a Gigabyte GP-ASM2NE6100TTTD, which is a Gen 4, 1TB drive, with the latest FW. So I just copied my good backup of my EFI with 0.6.7 back, and that's where I'm at now.

I'm on OC 0.6.7, assuming my config.plist IS messed up and I just need to build a new one, what procedure should I use to rebuild it? If helpful, I've attached my config.plist as it is now.

THANK YOU!

Update to macOS 11.3 went great, using OpenCore 0.6.8 and of course the latest kext files available.

Hi @CaseySJ,

I have reflashed my BIOS to F9i as you recommended but now I’m no longer able to boot from my EFI on my SSD or my USB. I have triple checked that all the settings are correct in my BIOS per Post #1 but still can’t boot from it.
Please check whether Boot --> CFG-Lock is Disabled.

On the Z390 Designare we do not exceed the 15 port limit and we do not use XhciPortLimit. So feel free to proceed with the upgrade to 11.3! :)

Hi @CaseySJ,

I just verified that it is Disabled. I was able to check the USB EFI on my MacBook Pro and I added the -v and set timeout to 5 to see if it would even show the OC picker. It did in fact show the picker with my macOS & Win10 partitions. I was able to boot into macOS after that but it still has some very weird time issues...It sets the time to May 9th 2033 but when i unlock the Time & Date section, the Time & Date corrects itself without me having to un-check and re-check the "Set date and time automatically" checkbox. I've tested this multiple times and it still some how sets the time and date way ahead and again once I unlock the Time & Date section it then fixes it, not really ideal.

Also, as far as OC picker it still tries to boot from windows first unless I manually set it to macOS Catalina. Any ideas?
