The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread - For 7020/9020 Optiplex Desktops

Display adapter (pc) to VGA MONITOR
You never said that you were adapting DP to VGA. That is certainly involved in the problem. If you want to use iMac 19,2 and you're happy with that, not a problem. CPU PM will not work as well as it does with iMac 15,1 as that is the closest match to your Haswell i7-4790.

Is there any thing to keep my eye on it or this will impact CPU

Intel Power Gadget for Mac will let you monitor the CPU performance. CPU PM is optional and the CPU still works even without it implemented. It may just use more energy or not be stepping the way it would with 15,1 and SSDT-PLUG.aml in the ACPI folder.

Thanks

That doesn't make any difference if the Vram is 1536 or 2048 MB. Either one is ok.
@trs96 Eventually I figured out I didn't change the DVMT pre-allocation ( I thought I did but not). I changed the DVMT, Everything working great! For sleep, I check box- Enable Legacy Option ROMs in Bios, if uncheck it, click sleep will go to reboot, it is same like on Clover. Today I updated to 11.2.1 successfully. So far, I am so glad get everything working! Thank you again!

Right now at www.Newegg.com

There's a really good deal on a small form factor (SFF) Core i5 Dell Optiplex 7020. Selling for $129. You can add to that the Quadro K600 card and power your 4K/60Hz monitor at it's native resolution. Total cost will be under $190 even after shipping costs. You should definitely add more DDR3 ram and use an SSD for the boot drive to get good performance wih Big Sur. Don't know of any better hackintosh value currently, especially if you already have a 4K monitor to view macOS Big Sur on. 4K on Big Sur via onboard HD4600 is still not 100% resolved yet. With a K600 you'll have full OOB support so there's nothing to configure to get 4K/60 in Big Sur.

I don't recommend using the K600 with a 4K TV. That requires adapting DP to HDMI and you don't always get 60Hz referesh rates. Use a 4K monitor with DP input that was designed for PC use. Also note that you can't game at all with a K600 as it's a Quadro workstation card. I've been enjoying mine with Big Sur and it looks awesome.

Note that these low prices are only available for US customers. They will be at least 2x more in the UK and other EU countries.

A 500GB Crucial MX500 SSD makes for a more than capable boot drive for not a lot of money.

Did anyone had any luck with OC 0.6.6? I had a lot of problems with boot on OC 0.6.5 but finally after changing BootProtect to None I can install Big Sur with everything working. I'm trying to create config.plis with OC 0.6.6
but boot stops on EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START I tried suggestions from OC. No luck yet. BootProtect option is gone at 0.6.6. Anyone had that problem?

Did you unlock CFG as per post #6 of the guide ? Upgrade BIOS to A18 if you haven't yet, load defaults and change it to UEFI booting, disable Serial Port etc. Then boot into the modGRUBShell.efi and make the changes. Really easy.

I resolved that by setting
RebuildAppleMemoryMap false
SetupVirtualMap true
SignalAppleOS false
SyncRuntimePermissions true
But than another stop at lo0.
No i did not disable CFG at this one yet I just set it up CFG Lock
AppleCpuPmCfgLock andAppleXcpmCfgLock to true in config.plist. I'll do it tomorrow. I think I'll stick to 0.6.5 for now untill 0.6.6 final is released (that would include gen X)

Both of these already are released, you can use them right now.
Just follow the video guide, it's tested and it works. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. I'd like to hear how your i3-4130 HD4400 graphics works for you. Once you've got the install complete, shut down. Remove the GT 710, then set the BIOS -> Primary display to auto instead of Nvidia if that's how it's set now.

I got the HD4400 gfx to work with an i3-4150. It wasn't glitching and there was full acceleration but weird black screens would happen out of the blue. Not sure why.
