[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I don't have a Designare MB but trusted other peoples results from this thread who reported most stable results using that firmware on their TR cards and so far have seen no adverse effects. I never used the DSM2 version, only the ones modified here by Casey and Elias, which I also figure probably helps using their SSDT as well.

The PEG slots are the full length ones you can install graphics cards into. I have 2 of them in my Asus as well as another full length x16 which is what I have always used. It worked straight away so I never even experimented, again trusting what I read from other peoples findings.

SSDT is attached. I need it on RP21 for my MB, and also renamed my slot name to match my PCI address so it all matches in System Profiler. Especially when my dock is connected as that populates PCI with its extra ports.
thanks for the files - will compare it to mine in the morning.....The difference could just be your flash firmware. I have the little amazon flasher too - Hate doing it though, but Ive re flashed with earlier dsm firmware then back again when that made no difference.

@Inqnuam,

Please try accessing the HackinDROM site through:
  • Firefox in macOS. Do you see this?

  • Microsoft Edge in Windows. Does the entire pop-up menu appear blank?

Just fixed, thanks!

Microsoft Edge in Windows. Does the entire pop-up menu appear blank?
Should appear normally but since Windows browsers are S!@&à I have to apply special code for them I guess. I don't have Windows OS for the moment so I can't test it myself. But will try to fix this too.
Can you post a screenshot of that blank pop-up menu in Microsoft Edge?

(question that Im asking to myself: Is Casey really using Microsoft Edge? If no, how he found that bug?)

So, I've never had a good explanation for the unflashed-yet-extreme functionality of my onboard Thunderbolt Z390 Designare (F9h) with Mojave. I've posted a bit about this in the Great Middle Region of this thread, and there's a kind mention of me in here somewhere by @CaseySJ, but I still have no answers for why I now enjoy full hotplug and UAD hotplug and "coldplug" driver reconnection. The modded @kgp patch works in Clover and in OpenCore.

I am not sure you are the only one that this works for, some devices do well with just an SSDT other do not H/C/W Plug or otherwise. I am guessing the easiest answer is you have the right devices.

Do you do this with a Hub or directly pulgged?
With this configuration can you get direct connect thunderbolt to thunderbolt Networking?
Do you have a eGPU that you can eject with the icon?
Can you connect to targeted Display/Disk mode?
Can you connect to a Apple Thunderbolt display?

The flashed thunderbolt is just closer to mac implementation. If Hackintosh is striving for as close to the mac as possible the flashed thunderbolt is better. If all you need is hotplug on what you own and the SSDT work then it works for you.

Alas, I had to venture to the Dark Side today. Fortunately, HackinDROM is now working correctly in Microsoft Edge!
