[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Some questions:
  • Is the 970 EVO Plus running the latest firmware?
  • Was the system running fine for several weeks or months before the kernel panics began?

Thanks for your answer!

-Yes, it‘s on the latest firmware
- Exactly, it was running fine for a while until the kernel panics began. Seems like they happen only sometimes shortly after startup when I - for example - open a Finder window

@CaseySJ ,
Hi again,
I finally removed every part of the Computer one by one.
It appeared the Fenvi-T919 was causing the PC to BootLoop. When removed it will do its post test then Boot normally and even shutdown normally.
However it is strange, that with the Fenvi Plugged,
once you wait 4-6 hours of shutdown, the computer will work, at the first boot (not the second one).
It will run the POST and run, the Fenvi working perfectly (WiFi and Bluetooth).
If you shut it down, it will boot loop forever (until you wait 4-6h).
This problem can be solved by removing instantly the Fenvi, which will allow the computer to Boot.

Is there anyone which had the same problem here ?
I’m hesitating buying a new brand one Fenvi-T919. Could it be a support/conflict hardware problem ?
I can’t remember but you where talking about allowing the Intel WiFi/BT card to be displayed on Mac.
Is that a good solution or do you advise me to buy a new one ?
Should I buy a new one or just maybe change the brand.
What is the best WiFi/BT card supporting MacOS available nowadays ?

thank you
Hi again, I’m sorry to bother you all again. But haven’t had any reaction to this.

should I Buy a New FenVi ? Those already happened to one of you ?
Could it be a compatibility problem ?

thank you

I was wondering if anyone has Corsair RGB vengeance pro RAM installed? I have mine working just fine except the RGB part. They are stuck on the default vomit rainbow. can someone with the same memory tell me how you are controlling the RGB. The memory is not recognized in icue on my win10 virtual machine.
I have this RAM and I load up in to Windows and control the LEDs. Once I get them how I want them I reboot over to MacOS, the LEDs stay the way they are configured in Windows. I have to remove power completely from the system to have them revert out of the configuration.

This 4h to 6h window to solve the issue makes me think this may be related to capacitors. I'd test thoroughly before buying new hardware. Try a different PSU and if possible, test that Fenvi on another motherboard.

Thanks for replying. I checked my current EFI partition, and could not find any file called SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7.aml. I did find it on older backups on CLOVER/ACPI/patched. Should it be there? Or should I simply take that old backup and put it on CLOVER/misc?
It’s in the Catalina install pack linked in the first post...

The message means the Buffer for ThunderboltDROM has a size that is less than the number of bytes specified. In the case of your dsl and aml examples, the Buffer size was set to One which is definitely not large enough for a DROM. The message does not affect the ability to load the DROM.
Very good; Method 4 has been added.

Please post a screenshot of the contents of CLOVER/ACPI/patched.

I posted the screenshots and my EFI folder. Did it get removed? Should I post it again?

Edit: here it is again

This shows that SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7.aml is present, so it should be moved to the CLOVER/misc folder. Then copy the Fractal Design aml file (SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-FD-DEFINE-R6-USB2-ON-TB-V3.aml) into this folder as previously stated, and reboot. That will enable USB 2.0 on both of the Thunderbolt ports.

Thanks. I'll try that in a few minutes.
