Mouse LAG/FREEZE/HANG using new RT 5700 XT GPU

Could be. But on my old 3770K I got 200fps with the same test.

Hmm ok. I made a few changes and was able to get 170 and looking at Activity Monitor it is using the 5700 XT.

I turned the iGPU back off and now it says GPU unknown like you mentioned. I also found that it really depends on the video. On some videos I also get around 170fps. So it should be fine. iStat shows that the 5700 is only at 25% but thats probably normal. A little irritating that it still says CPU and INTEL while encoding. But t also shows that your Geekbench scores don’t adapt to real life :)

Ok, that's all consistent with my results. At least I know nothing is obviously wrong then.

I'll give it a shot and report back if I can get two monitors to work. But if you don't have the problem without WEG it's pointing towards a less than perfect WEG integration. As far as I understood, WEG also tells the system what ports are there to use on the GPU. So that might be the reason why only one would work in your case. It's weird though because the 5700 should be natively supported with all its ports.

Ok, so I finally got it. Don't know why I did not try this sooner. I went to the setting on both of my LG 4k monitors and disable Display Ports 1.2. After that not only my monitors worked fine with no lag at 60hz, even netflix DRM worked with no Shikigva boot args. This is on 19,1 with igpu enabled.

when I disable dp1.2 I only get 30Hz. Or are you using HDMI instead?

No, I'm using display port on both monitors. The reason why I did not disable DP 1.2 in the monitor setting in the first place is because I thought 1.1 can only display 30hz. It is showing 60hz for me on system report now on 1.1

When I disable DP 1.2, I only get 30Hz. It's weird that you get more, bc DP 1.1 shouldn't even do 5k afaik. Maybe your monitor switches to 1.3 or 1.4 instead when you disable 1.2. However, it looks like DP 1.2 is the root of all the evil :)

I'm not sure if disabling it switches to 1.3 or 1.4 since it does not say anything on the monitor or system report. LG 27UK850W specs page said DP ver 1.2 only. But it is definitely the reason why all the lags happened. It has been a few days and my system has been running beautifully.

I'm also using a 5700XT, an "XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT Thicc II" to be exact. I cannot remember having the mouse lag issue with my old Intel mobo and CPU, but with my new Ryzen 3600X I am also experiencing the mouse lag.
I'm using a 4K or an ultra wide UWQHD 100Hz monitor, DP cable. Using an HDMI cable made the lag much much worse, with the whole computer being basically unusable.

I did find one solution for my ultra wide monitor: Disabling DisplayPort 1.2 in the Monitor HUD (so, use DP 1.1) makes the mouse lag go away! Yes, it really does! The caveat being that the display only runs at 60Hz, because of the lower bandwidth of DP 1.1. So, no solution for HiDPI displays. For now, I will be running my monitor at 60Hz. I still hope we can soon solve this problem. Cheers!
