[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

It’s not necessary to use a 4K monitor. There must be some gremlin that we’re overlooking.

Some general words to the wise:
  • Don’t use TVs.
  • Don’t use video adapters.
  • Don’t use VGA or DVI ports.
While these things could work, you would be playing Russian Roulette.

Ah ok good to know – will keep trying headless. Just updated my BIOS and making a new boot drive now

  • Please delete the files in red from CLOVER/kexts/Other.
  • If you're using CLOVER/ACPI/patched/SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7.aml for custom USB ports, then also delete the file in yellow (USBPorts.kext) and add USBInjectAll.kext to CLOVER/kexts/Other.
  • Then add the attached file SmallTreeIntel82576.kext (unzipped) to CLOVER/kexts/Other.
    • This is the version from Catalina Mini Guide.

@CaseySJ Just wanted to say Thank you for all of your hard work. It helped me immensely.
Running a 9900k, Designare and Catalina. All working great except for Thunderbolt 3 connected to the Qnap TVS-672XT. But that's just a hiccup that will be surpassed with a Qnap 10gbe card ;)

Thanks again

I wanna upgrade to 10.15.3. How can I do that. Thank you very much... ^^

AFAIK there is no 10.15.3 released yet. Neither final nor beta. If you mean 10.15.2 and you´re on 10.15.1 at the moment an update via system preferences should do the job.

Backup before.

Thank you for your answer, I have deleted the red and yellow files, add USBInjectall, but attached SmallTreeIntel82576.kext still doesn't work !
Is it not a problem that my USBPorts.kext is deleted now, even when I will upgrade Catalina to a new system (10.16 for instance) ?
Maybe I should also remove SSDT-EC and DTPG.aml from acpi -> patched, which I think works with my kext USB ?

Thanks for the amazing guide. This thread is one of the best things we can get in the hackintosh community! Successfully installed Mojave this week. Will try to upgrade to Catalina when it gets more stable. Here's my spec:

Intel Core i9-9900K
HyperX Predator Black 64GB kit 3200MHz DDR4
GIGABYTE Z390 DESIGNARE
Samsung 970 EVO SSD 1TB
XFX AMD Radeon VII
fenvi T919 for macOS PC PCI WiFi Card

I have two questions on the build.
  1. I have backed up my Mojave drive and EFI partition with CCC. To restore the drive, do I just need to create another CCC task, set backup drive as source, original drive as destination and include EFI v2 script again?
  2. I'm connecting two 4K monitors on my GPU via DP cables. Sometimes after the computer has slept for a long time (over 20h), the monitors won't wake up. Sometimes when I restart the computer, only one monitor wakes up. I have wake for network access set turned off.

I've tested this too. Doesn't work. QNAP needs a properly implemented TB network. That part of TB has never worked on a Hack. A 10 GbE card is probably a better bet. I guess Sonnet stuff will work? Research this before you buy.
