[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Can you please do the following:
  • Provide a link to the exact WIFI card or cards that you have tried.
  • Compress and upload the CLOVER folder from EFI partition of Mojave SSD (remove serial numbers from SMBIOS of config.plist).
  • Post screenshot of /Library/Extensions folder.
  • And finally, download and run IORegistryExplorer and select File —> Save As... Then post the saved file.
This should give us a comprehensive view of the state of your system.

Forgot to mention: after updating BIOS to F7 CFG Unlock was gone (was expecting that), but Thunderbolt was gone, too, due to some changes in the settings (THAT was a pain). Now it occured to me; my cards not working could either be a config issue, or (thought it would be more likely) a BIOS thing. But looking over and over again and it still doesn't make any sense, everything seems in order and frankly there isn't much to mess with.

Installed the latest acidanthera releases. Whatevergreen 1.3.1, AppleALC 1.4.0, and Lilu 1.3.8. The Latest whatevergreen fixes the purple lines previously seen during boot up.

not cool casey not cool :( thanks for tying though
Alright, my bad. But Google is really a treasure trove that often goes untapped. A quick Google search led me to this:
The main suggestion from this link is to determine whether the YouTube problem occurs even when playing videos from Chrome's Incognito mode or from a Safari/Firefox Private Window. Many browser add-ons are disabled in these private viewing modes, which can sometimes provide a clue.

The keyword or phrase I entered into the Google search bar is this: youtube crashes web browser on Mac. Lots of replies were generated.

It is very likely that a problem you're facing has already been faced and discussed on this website or on the broader internet. Because Hackintosh comes with no warranty, no satisfaction guarantee, no tech support, no money back policy it becomes incumbent upon each of us to strive for some measure of self-sufficiency. We must try to be our own first responder. And Google can be a great place to turn to.

Keep in mind that not every application crash or erratic behavior is specifically due to the Hackintosh. A lot of these problems happen on real Macs as well.

Some general troubleshooting guidelines:
  • Determine when the problem started and what events might have triggered the problem.
  • Determine whether there is any pattern to the problem. In this case, does YouTube crash only on Firefox or on all browsers? And does it crash when any particular type of video is played back (HD versus 4K)?
  • Try to revert to an earlier known working condition by booting from a Bootable Backup Disk and checking whether the problem occurs from that baseline system.
  • Search this site or the internet in general for reports of similar problems.

Did you happen to overclock your 9700k? Or are you running everything stock?
I'm running everything at stock frequencies for these reasons:
  • Switching from my 2008 Mac Pro to this was such a gigantic jump that I am 100% satisfied with the performance. I even opted for the cheaper i7-9700K instead of the hyper-threaded i9-9900K because it was more than sufficient for the present and the foreseeable future -- for my needs.
  • I am energy conscious and therefore installed a 5.4KW solar array last year. I am generating nearly twice as much energy as I am consuming, but I do expect my energy needs to increase with the eventual purchase of an all-electric vehicle.
  • I prefer not to overclock because:
    • It increases energy consumption significantly (liquid Nitrogen is needed to establish and maintain certain not-too-extravagant clock speeds).
    • It produces some increase in performance, but nothing earth shattering overall. I don't play video games (haven't played any for about 20 years) so a few percent increase in FPS means nothing to me.
    • For significant performance gains in a responsible manner, I advocate for the use of high-core CPUs manufactured at the leading technology nodes. Ryzen 9 3900X for example is manufactured at TSMC's 7nm node and for 12 cores and 24 threads it has a remarkably low TDP and no over-clocking needed. We expect Intel's Ice Lake to have similar performance specifications. As an aside, Intel's 10nm node is approximately equivalent to TSMC's 7nm node because of the different metrics they use to determine this.
      • Intel uses a more strict measure -- actual density of transistors per unit area.

*** Mini-Guide: Easy Way to Enable On-Board HDMI Port with Hackintool ***

Did someone tell you how great you are today? Duude! How did you learn all this stuff? I mean... seems VERY technical and low-level obscure data. You rock big time. Let me know how can I buy you a coffee.

Sure:

- 4331 (working), 4360 (works just in Windows), 43602 (doesn't work at all, prevents OS X boot up, when in x1 Slot gets recognised by Windows though)

View attachment 421417
- don't use /Library/Extensions

btw, which slot do you use for your Fenvi Card? You remember, User @ummario was just able to run his card from Slot x4. I think I can rule out a defective Mainboard (because the BCM94331cd works) and also the cards (work in x58). Something's reeeaaally fishy here.

Edited Info above
Some observations:
  • IOReg shows that you've removed the Intel CNVi card from the AORUS Xtreme. This is okay, although I really prefer to keep it installed and to use the NO-CNVW SSDT. The Designare Z390 version of this should work on the AORUS Xtreme. This means:
    • We delete all Broadcom WiFi/BT drivers in Windows.
    • Windows will use the Intel CNVi device. You can pair Bluetooth devices in Windows using this device and they won't interfere with MacOS. Bluetooth devices will be independently paired in MacOS to the Broadcom card.
  • The BCM 94331 device is currently installed and appears in PCI0.RP07. And Bluetooth appears in XHC.HS13. This is okay.
Recommendation:
  • Install the Intel CNVi module.
  • Continue using the BCM94331 WiFi/BT module.
  • Install the SSDT-DESIGNARE-Z390-NO-CNVW.aml into CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder. This SSDT is available from Post #1 (Post-Install Files.zip).
  • Remove the Broadcom device driver from Windows and let it use the Intel CNVi.
  • Connect the AORUS Xtreme antennas (comes in the box) to the two antenna ports on the rear IO panel. This is necessary in order to use the CNVi module.

Could be iStat is not giving you correct info:

Check post above for HWMonitorSMC, and see if you get correct info there...
Very nice! That's even newer: 2.4.8.

Installed the latest acidanthera releases. Whatevergreen 1.3.1, AppleALC 1.4.0, and Lilu 1.3.8. The Latest whatevergreen fixes the purple lines previously seen during boot up.
Finally no more purple graffiti!
