[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Has anyone updated safely to 10.14.6?
Any new procedures?

I didn't update, went straight to 10.14.6 without a glitch following all advice from the guide in page 1

The kernel panic in the screenshot is just a standard dump of libraries that macOS had in memory at the time the crash occurred. It does not provide any information about the cause. But some hints about the cause may be present a couple of pages above, which can be captured with a video camera (smartphone in video mode). We can scrub the video a frame at a time until we see the last real log messages just prior to the kernel dump log.

If you need to recover from this quickly and you have a bootable backup of 10.14.5, you may want to boot from that and restore your system back to 10.14.5.

I was able to update my EVO Plus without Windows. Samsung has a self booting installer also, but be sure to use a PS2 keyboard. I've heard reports about USB keyboards not recognized when using Samsung self booting installer.

Wow! Thanks a lot @mobi and @CaseySJ !

I can't find the self booting installer for Samsung NMVe though. I will try upload tomorrow from a Windows station and hopefully get back to you with some good news!

Thanks!

I’ve rolled it back for now will keep an eye out on the thread as i need the hackintosh for work and can’t afford any more down time today

Yes, several folks here have reported successful updates.

Me too, just used the mini manual (front page 10.14.4->10.14.5) to update from 10.14.5 -> 10.14.6. All is working!

The Cinema Display's built-in USB hub is also a USB device that should be disconnected. Please connect keyboard and mouse directly into the rear USB 2.0 ports to rule out the hub.

Hey there!

Thank you for your assistance!
I am still waiting for an alternative USB3 card to arrive in the mail and will report back soon!

By the way:

Would it be possible to modify the „Disabling a GPU in PCIe Slot 2“ file from the first page to exclude the third x16 PCI-e slot instead of the second one?
I would be very thankful if somebody modified it!

By the way 2: I am currently evaluating the use of an EVGA nVidia Geforce GTX 780 CLASSIFIED graphics card in this machine. Worked out of the box on 10.14.5, including sleep and HDCP. Finally CRT resolutions via DVI-to-VGA at 100+Hz... I love my Sony Trinitron.
The RX 580 feels a bit smoother though.
Granted, it is 5 years younger...

Cheers,
schreiberstein
