This is really quite strange, but glad you isolated the problem. I wonder if this is due to a conflict with something else in the system, or if there’s a defect...

Since it does not occur in Windows I think it is a conflict, I think I’m going to start over since I’m having some issues with reboots even during the load screen occasionally

Which version of Mojave did you install? Was it 10.4.0? You can find out by right-clicking on "Install macOS Mojave" in the Applications folder of your original Mac and selecting Get Info. Remember that MacMini8,1 was released almost 6 months after the original release of Mojave. So the 2018 Mac mini is supported with 10.14.1 or later.

If you did in fact install 10.14.0, you should move or delete "Install macOS Mojave" from your Applications folder on the Mac and re-download Mojave from the App Store. Unfortunately this means re-installing macOS...

I did reinstall 10.14.4 and before I did the clover config it showed the Vega 56 properly (when the config was still the initial base iMac).

I modified my previous post... Are you using MacMini8,1 or iMac8,1?

I did the initial setup as imac14,2 and then didn’t post install as Macmini8,1

Now I’m paranoid. Maybe I accidentally choose iMac8,1? Is there a way to check? (Because right now I can’t boot into Mac OS...). Or do I need to just reinstall again?!

It is recommended to update Clover, but before you take one step forward with the upgrade, it is even more strongly recommended to make a full system backup. You should also mount EFI partition and save a full copy of the EFI folder.

When updating Clover, it's also a good idea to update existing drivers. No need to add any new ones.

Thanks CaseSJ, I successfully upgraded to 10.14.4. Did you recommend the New Mojave 10.14.4 Port Limit Removal Patches or was there another?

First of all thank you so much to CaseySJ for writing this extensive and very well explained guide! I built my first computer/hackintosh today, and was able to get it up and running just by following this guide

I'm still trying to fine tune some items, but wanted to check if anyone had an update to connecting their phones via thunderbolt. I found some discussion from earlier this month, but the search engine isn't cooperating with me today

Also is there an app for fan control anyone is using regularly? I want to minimize fan noise as much as possible.

Preface:
I made another Hackintosh this past weekend for my son. Unlike my recent build based on your work but using the Aorus Xtreme Waterforce, an i9 9900K and a Vega 64, I used the same mobo Designare Z390) and processor (i7 9700K) as you did.

My main deviation was trying to salvage an un-returnable XFX RX-590, which I only too late found does not work on a Hackintosh. Other RX-590s work, like one from PowerColor, but not the XFX model. After some research, I was able to flash the PowerColor BIOS via Windows 10, allowing the XFX RX-590 to work in Mojave (but it took even more effort to get Mojave graphic settings to work). Boot drive is an NVMe PCIe NAND, WD Black SN750 1TB (here); an Alphacool Eisbaer AIO CPU cooler was used (here), with Corsair 32GB RAM (here). Internal backup drive was a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB (here). PS was 750W (here), all inside a small, inexpensive case (here).

BTW, I started the process with a SuperDuper clone of my iMac18,3 system, converting it to a MacMini8,1. The config file is attached (less SNs). Mojave is 14.4.

Problem:
My main point of this, is that I got everything working, including WiFi/BT, except for TB3. I know that in my other system, the iMac18,3, TB3 works just fine. I finally got TB3 to work tonight, but I had to re-do your USB designations in the SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V5 file, and I needed to add a Clover Boot argument exclusion: uia_exclude=HS04;HS08;HS12;HS13;HS14;SS04;SS08;SS09;SS10;USR1;USR2 (some of these changes were simply for my personal convenience).

Solution:
The main change to get TB3 to work, was activating HS01 (and I think, HS02). Once I added HS01, not only did the UAD Apollo immediately connect via TB3, but I was then able to connect a USB-c drive to the other TB3 port (SSP2, show below). I attached the modified SSDT as ~v5-b, below.

Also attached are which USB ports I left active, and a few tests showing how the RX-590 works.

States that it works with Mac mini 8,1 so I'd think it should work for someone using that System Def. and integrated graphics. The USB C to DP cable looks to be the best option for 4K monitors with DP in.

I found my crazy clicking to be the high end audio components on motherboard if I disable on board audio no clicking arcing sound. I have Motu 1248 and hdmi audio so I’m ok without it but would like like to know the cause

Same here. My AudioLab Q-DAC has annoying clicking noises. I switched to using the onboard TOSlink (optical audio) connector, so not really a big deal for me.
