[Solved]Fixes to Get Full Acceleration on Intel HD Graphics in iMac 17.1

Man, updgraded my CPU to i7 7700, now, I cannot get the Nvidia drivers to load, desperate again, but for a different reason. Tried enabling emulated NVRAM through Multibeast, Clover, checked the EFI folders for the required files, everything should be good, but for some reason, the NVIDIA drivers wont load. Can you please suggest some kind of solutions? Thanks!

Not sure exactly what your issue is, but for NVRAM support I've switched to aptiomemoryfix.efi and it's much better than OSXAptioFix2drv + EmuVariableUefi. Replace both with the file I attached (complied this morning) and read this readme for bios setup instructions here:

https://github.com/vit9696/AptioFixPkg

I'm not sure if it will fix your issues but it might :)

Tried, but nothing :/ System booted as before, saw the new aptiomemfix loading...not problem with that. Now, why are the nvidia drivers not loading?

Does your computer show your card in the system and it's just not loading the drivers? Do you have the right driver version? (Maybe uninstall then reinstall the drivers?)

The card shows up in the sys. prefs.

I used the old drivers that the other thread recommended (actually, I use the terminal utility that is popular now here on the forum, I think I have the 106 version of the drivers).

I tried uninstalling the drivers before but will try now with the aptiomemfix.

Attached is my new config.plist + my EFI folder in full.

Update 1: Updated the nvidia web drivers to the newest version, rebooted, now I boot to a black screen, displayport shows like nothing is connected to the port, the display shuts down.

Are you able to screenshare to the hackintosh when the screen is black? If so see if the drivers are loaded, and if so, then it might be a problem with lilu and/or nvidiagraphicsfixup. Do you need the boot argument -disablegfxfirmware for some reason?
and is there more than 1 displayport out on the card? (or an option in the bios to define which port is the primary port?)

Also, try removing the -v bootflag from your config. for some reason, booting in verbose mode disables nvidia graphics on my system, maybe it's the same for you....

Canyon, really appreciate your help, I really do, but I think this is an unsolvable riddle for us Listen to this, I found some post on ****** (check it out) and copied the EFI folder that the guy posted there, copied the config settings (but switched the system def to iMac 17,1 (ig-platform is IntelHD 630, will try to switch to skylake ig-platform and see if it activates the integrated graphics).

An voila, the NVIDIA web drivers loaded. This is extremely puzzling to me.

However, back to square one regarding the Integrated Graphics. Now, they are not even detected in the system (only the geforce is recognised now).

I changed the system definitions to iMac18.2 (no IntelGFX fakeid, set ig-platform to IntelHD630),

IntelHD 630 is recognized by the system

VDAcheck fails,

MacX shows no acceleration,
Screen Shot 2018-02-17 at 10.43.36.png
h264/h265 4k videos wont use the IG, nor are videos on youtube/Photos.app.

Attaching my updated config + EFI folder.

So, this is weird again.

1. I have 18.3 system def
Screen Shot 2018-02-17 at 14.36.51.png
2. InjectIntel disabled, ig-platform disabled
Screen Shot 2018-02-17 at 14.36.57.png
3. FakeIntelGFX disabled
Screen Shot 2018-02-17 at 14.37.01.png
4. I have disabled Nvidia WD load in Clover (I guess this has to do with the Aptiomemfix)

The IntelHD 630 is recognised in system, Nvidia drivers load no problem, BUT, no hw IntelHD acceleration when playing any videos (VDAchecker error, MacX no go, h265/h264 not using IntelHD).
Screen Shot 2018-02-17 at 14.39.33.png

Ok, I attached an error output.

UPDATE: I tried to disable shiki.kext, but no display output after boot. Tried to disable NvidiaGraphicsFix kext, but could not get display output, had to boot visa, then restore the kext. Deleted IntelGraphicsFixup.kext and I booted up, system recognised IntelHD, but nothing else changed. Okay, then I tried to Airplay for fun, and I succeeded, however, low FPS on the TV, but, the IntelHD started "working", it somehow showed activity, 1Ghz activity. Then I disabled Airplay and IntelHD stopped showing any activity at all. Something's wrong, can @RehabMan or another mackintosh guru offer some thoughts?
