oh, I have another question. The app store has some updates for me to install. Is it safe to do that on a hackintosh or will it make my install unusable?

You need to copy the files first and then execute the commands, please read atension the guide.
you can upgrade without fear, but first complete the guide.

I did copy the files. I can see them in System/Library/Extensions but I still get an error that it can not find them

Edit: When I copied the files I got an error that the files can not be used

The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/EAPDFix.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.

I did not worry about it because I knew that the terminal commands would install them properly, but the terminal command does not see the files.

You are not reading carefully, you must not copy in System/Library/Extensions.
You must copy in /Library/Extensions

ah... I did not realize there were two of them. I will do that

Sorry for all the time you are pending here. If there is any consolation, I want you to know that I deeply appreciate it.

Once I put the files in the right place I was able to run the commands. I did get an error on the last command

Mac-Pro:Extensions vitop$ sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext EAPDFix.kext

Should I worry about that, or is it ok?

Please read carefully the guide from the beginning.
Remember to delete files copied in System/Library/Extensions
yes, I did. Thank You :)

That's normal, no problem.
