Hey
@jimmakos01 and
@SebErr, all I gotta say is that the guy who wrote this guide is a complete moron.
hahah Oh boy, I feel like an idiot being that I misread the manual.
Ok, I just opened my tower, and even though everyone online said you needed to remove the CPU air cooler I have before swapping out the RAM, I used the hands of a delicate surgeon to move the RAM into the correct slots, and check this out:

I have 32Gb or RAM in this machine. And didn't do any specific RAM overclocking tweaks at all, so I'm totally fine just leaving things as-is. I'll also just keep my iMac 14,2 identifier because everything is working perfectly.
Wow, I owe both of you guys a beer. For real. The RAM was supposed to arrive tomorrow, so these tips were just in time and now I can not only return it unopened, but the RAM I bought was an excellent value in that it's 2x 16GB sticks, and so I still have two slots open for more RAM in the future. Ahhh...if Only I went with 64GB and 4 sticks of RAM, I would have filled up all the slots properly and not have made this bonehead move. LOL
Thanks again to both of you and also
@jb007 for your feedback and advice related to the RAM.
Time to update the guide for anyone that might make the same mistake I did.
