@Mattioo Remove drivers64UEFI-Folder, add EmuVariableUefi.efi to drivers/UEFI and remove shiki-settings from boot-arguments in config.plist. AppleALC and IntelMausi are missing in your kexts-folder.
The log indicates that the system was entering Darkwake instead of full sleep. And Darkwake was interrupted by an HID event (human interface device), most likely a keyboard or mouse event.
Do you have Enable Power Nap turned on in Preferences --> Energy Saver? If so, try turning this off.
If this alone does not work, then temporarily turn off Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and use a direct-attached keyboard and mouse (hopefully you have one of each).
If this also does not work, then momentarily disable Plex Media Server (there are quite a few Plex Media Server entries in the log).'
I am using Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra. I deployed your methods and get the system up and running. Just one thing weird. While I could disable the onboard Bluetooth and enable the Apple WiFi/BT combo board mounted on a PCIx1 board, I just cannot connect my TrackPad 2 to my unit. I can only connect the TrackPad using a USB cable. Any suggestion ?
Casey, Here's the Clover folder without the config.plist or the theme folder. All my kexts (lilu, weg, appleALC, USBinjectall, etc..) are in L/E thanks to "Kext Beast" and yes I rebuilt the cache w/ "kext Utility". FakeSMC is in in CLover/Kexts/other. Thanks
The advice from @jhahn is correct. EmuVariableUefi is necessary to enable Messages and FaceTime, both of which must be able to store key parameters in NVRAM. Without EmuVariableUefi, there is no access to NVRAM. EmuVariableUefi also allows CLOVER to remember the last booted volume; it also allows macOS updates to auto-select the correct intermediate boot volume during an OS update. EmuVariableUefi has also been a factor in getting Shutdown and Restart to work properly.
Edit: If using AptioMemoryFix instead of OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000, EmuVariableUefi is generally not needed.
Hey guys,
I spent past week trying to get frame buffer work on iGPU i9-9900K with Gigabyte Z390M Gaming, and I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Whenever booting I'm getting kernel error on framebuffer, I tried multiple platform-id changes and few configs from this threads with Z390M builds but still same erorr and autoreboot, attaching config and screens.
Kexts are updated to latest whatevergreen 1.3.2.
and also lilu to 1.3.8
I do have for testing GTX 1080 but its not plugged. The only output is to HDMI into 4K monitor.
Ialso used Hackintool and selected patch, SMBIOS is set to 19,1 iMac.
While trying to find out why my iPad Pro wasn't showing up when connected to the front panel USB-C connector, I noticed that my LG Ultrafine 5k had brightness control, sound, and webcam working magically. For those that need more context, see my thunderbolt config on my previous post here...
I just completed my build and am having great success. I'm even using an LG 5k / GC-Titan Ridge (without thunderbolt header) / z390 Designare and it's running at the FULL 5k!! I love it! A big thank you to @CaseySJ and the rest of the community.
Hardware:
Intel Core i9-9900 (non k)
Z390 Designare
32GB TridentZ Neo 3600MHz (No external disks so the eject problem is a non issue for me)
Broadcom bcm94360cs2 card in a 1x adapter
GC-Titan Ridge AIC R1.0 with no connectors in the Middle 4x long slot
Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB (connected with 2 DP -> MDP cables into Titan ridge)
Gigabyte Aorus m.2 1tb SSD (I know this card is gen4 but the board is only gen3. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It was a gift.)
525gb Crucial MX300 SSD
What's working:
Sound
Graphics / Acceleration
Bluetooth / Wifi
Sleep / Wake
Handoff / Continuity
Both LAN ports
Most creature comforts
What's NOT working:
Sidecar (No idea what's going on there, I've attached the crash log)
Sound / Webcam / Brightness from the LG 5k display (I'm not using the thunderbolt header so this is expected though)
Config:
SMBIOS: iMac Pro 1,1
Clover 5070
Boot args: slide=0
Patches: Pike's Black screen fix (instead of Whatevergreen), SATA0 -> SATA, HDAS -> HDEF, Enable TRIM.

Final thoughts:
I'm considering exchanging out the Designare for the Aorus Pro so that I can get the Titan Ridge card working fully.
If anyone has any thoughts about why Sidecar is crashing, let me know. If anyone has any questions about my setup, I'll try to respond as soon as I get a chance.
Thanks again everyone! It feels so good to have a hackintosh again.
TL;DR I'm using a GC-Titan Ridge (With no header or cables connected to the AIC) on the Designare to drive the full 5k display. Previously I was not able to control brightness, use the webcam or speakers. Then out of nowhere, they start working today.
Can anyone point me in the direction to find out why it started working today and how can I make it keep working? Where do I need to dig into? I made no changes other than a reboot.
At that moment:
darkwake=0 nothing checked in energy saver (should anything be checked?)
perhaps I should go back to beginning and check everything in your build notes?
Is there any info shown in Hackintool which would be helpful?
Did the freezing occur right after installation and post-installation were done?
Did the freezing occur after installing any third party applications such as Google Chrome or Photoshop or even Apple's own separate software such as Final Cut Pro?
Are there any third-party devices or device drivers installed other than mouse, keyboard, GPU, monitor, NVMe, and SATA drives?
Is there any pattern to the freezing such as:
Does it occur in Safari?
Does it occur in FireFox?
Does it occur in Chrome?
Does it occur when watching YouTube videos?
Does it occur when doing any particular task?
What does the freeze look like? Is it the case where mouse and keyboard simply stop working, and also all activity on the screen stops (even the clock does not change)?
Some hardware questions:
What power supply are you using?
What is the wattage? 650W or more?
Are all internal devices properly seated in their slots?
Have you double-checked all wires and connections?
A number of similar problems from other users were traced to bad memory modules. If you search Google for "memtest for Mac" you will find the details for running "Memtest" to diagnose memory problems.
Thanks CaseySJ. The freezing happens after the post installation done. This is not a regular freezing as It does not happen after any specific instance. I can't think anything which should be creating issue except my SSD is NVME Samsung 970 Plus which had a problem with MacOS before. But I made sure I am using the latest firmware on it.
Regarding hardware:
- Powersupply Corsair 750 W
- Internal devices are seated properly
- Wires and connection looks fine.
- Memory is Gskill Ripjaw V series 3200 MHz (2x16)
Since I last posted message, the system is running fine so far. I am keeping my fingers crossed. But can please let me know which syslog to check if system freeze again. By the way, thanks a lot for providing this very detailed and hassle free hackintosh guide for novice like me to install it painlessly.
