Hi all,

Beware of a bug with 10.15.5 update!

If you make a first backup with Carbon Copy Cloner, it won't be bootable!

A bug in macOS 10.15.5 impacts bootable backups, but we've got you covered | Carbon Copy Cloner | Bombich Software

The solution is to use the CCC 5.1.18 beta as detailed in the link above. The bombish developper is pretty mad against Apple, lol.

If you previously made a backup in 10.15.4, it seems ok tho.

I have noticed that Backups seem to be veery slow since the 10.15.5 update. This is happening with the 3 SATA Time Machine backups and the OWC Thunderbay 4 DAS. @CaseySJ have you notice this?

I just updated to 10.15.5 (it included the supplemental update, It is System Version: macOS 10.15.5 (19F101)) I'm in process of backing up now including a Time Machine one. I'll let you know. My OWC Thunderbay 4 is working as expected. I have 4 8Tb drives in two raids. They read and write >350MB.

Funny I was just noticing how my backup after installing the 10.15.5 (12GB backup Time Machine to a NAS) is running at a great pace.

Hello guys,
I have been these days full of work and i could't do anything about the Thunderbolt Antelope work.

@CaseySJ , @qthegaijin finally i had sent the X299X Aorus Master back to store.
Now i have 1 Gigabyte X299 Designare EX and 2 Gigabyte Z390 Designare to test.

X299 Designare works like a charm, seems that the audio problems with usb that i had with Radeon VII + Asus X299 Prime Deluxe its gone... (i need to test it more , but i think that is ok now...)


What Firmware should i have to flash into the X299 Designare EX integrated TH Chip?
Could help if i save mine with the flash tool and post it here?


Other question that i had from years to now, all these Motherboard who have integrated thunderbolt but with Thunderbolt expansion head , could accept also a pcie thunderbolt card??
this could be a good option to have maybe more than 2 Thunderbolt ports.

I have sent all the previous data from the X299X to Antelope Team and they are very interested in how this is growing.

Good to hear you fixed your USB issues. I had a remote session with Antelope on my real mac pro to troubleshoot their latest driver/server combination. Even with the modified bios for my z170x Antelope stuff still does not want to connect correctly. Hopefully the info you provided them will help.

** OpenCore Mini-Guide Updated for 0.5.9 Standard Version **​

The OpenCore Mini Guide for Z390 Designare has been updated for the standard 0.5.9 version. N-D-K version will be updated once its official release is available.

To migrate from an earlier release of OpenCore, please open the existing and new config.plist files in ProperTree. Then copy the following PlatformInfo parameters from old file to new file:

• MLB (board serial number)
• System Serial Number
• System UUID
• System Name (e.g. iMac19,1)

Due to significant changes between 0.5.9 and earlier releases, the entire new ZIP file must be used. After making these changes, copy new EFI folder onto a USB flash disk and boot from USB (press F12 at BIOS splash screen and select USB) to verify the 0.5.9 configuration before committing it to the internal macOS SSD.
