There we go! Typing this on Sierra, officially an iMac 13,2

The build I bought secondhand as a working computer with a 320GB HHD inside with Windows 10. Ripped it out, stuck in the SSD and got to work getting OS X running, which was relatively breezy. I did check here before finalizing the buy that this motherboard would run OS X. Also, I feel I got a great deal on it so it was worth the shot.

Using legacy boot, since EUFI is weird.

What's not working? Onboard Audio, and waking up from sleep. So yeah, inconveniences!

What is working? OpenCL acceleration in final cut pro. On two screens.

It seems rock solid, all USB ports are active, I have an internal USB3 card reader that works out of the box (ICIDU , it works just as unreliably as it did under Windows when it comes to CF cards, but SD is solid enough.)

My audio chip is the Realtek ALC 887, but I can't seem to get it working. Learning a lot tho! I now know what /S/L/E means ;)

also tried to get sound blaster audigy working, after struggling with on-board for a few hours. Using kXaudiodriver. Got the kext to load but it doesn't see the device. People have it running, so I'm not giving up yet.

In the meanwhile, I've resorted to using my Zoom H2N Audio Recorder as an audio interface for now while I figure it out. It's just not convenient because that thing is supposed to be in my camera bag, not standing on the desk. However, it does work as an audio interface in OS X.

I haven't gotten round to finding out why sleep won't work! Has to be the Radeon card, apparently they don't sleep. Have to put the iGPU as primary and just accept no video output happening till I'm in the desktop environment. That or give up sleep.

Overall, it's one of the finest machines I've put together and I love building pc's.

Edit: I'll clean this post up, just read the sticky.

config.plist attached here,

Still figuring out how to know what goes in EFI and what goes in /S/L/E
also deviceID stuff will take a bit to figure out how to pull it up and translate to hex and input that in config files. It's all a learning experience.

And a geekbench result!
