Sometimes, especially after wake up from sleep, I get some sluggishness / lagginess from my GTX 1070. How could I remedy that problem? I thought full acceleration meant, well full acceleration.

I have a Clevo laptop. It's a P650RS-G from subvendor Eluktronics. Clevo is a barebones laptop designer based in Taiwan that outsource to OEMs to manufacture. Their laptops come with little to no bloatware and offer an excellent price to performance ratio. For reference, I got my config last year for $1,499.99 USD after tax.

I am rocking 10.12.5 on Clover EFI.

Right now these things work:

  • iMessage

  • App Store

  • iCloud

  • Wifi (using Netgear AC6210 for now, will be switching over to the DW1560 soon)

  • Discrete graphics acceleration

  • battery indicator works

  • keyboard and mouse with proper recognition in macOS

  • Proper sleep and wake

  • internal speakers work, just headphone jack not working, used USB adapter works fine now. (USB adapter is only like $7)

  • external monitor works just fine

  • type-c ports aren't hot configured yet (have to enable it from boot)

  • installed on a 500GB Samsung 850 Evo.
For reference, my overall system is as follows:

  • i7-6700HQ 2.6GHz Skylake CPU

  • 16GB DDR4 single stick (with three slots free)

  • Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5

  • 512 GB Eluktro Pro SATA SSD M.2

  • 512 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD M.2

  • 512 GB Samsung 750 EVO SSD 2.5"

  • 750 GB Crucial MX300 SSD 2.5"

  • 60Whr battery (not big at all so expect to keep it plugged in at all times)

  • Intel 8260ac WiFi (planning on switching over to the BCM94532z/aka Dell DW1560)

  • 1 x RGB internal keyboard (nice travel distance)

  • 3 x USB 3.0 Ports

  • 2 x mini DisplayPorts

  • 1 x HDMI port

  • 2 x USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2 Ports (have Alpine Ridge controller disabled by BIOS microcode aka physically capable of Thunderbolt 3)

  • 1 x Intel Gigabit Ethernet (uses Realtek drivers)

  • 1 x Micro-SDXC Card Reader

  • 1 x Kensington Lock

  • 3 x fans to keep things cool and I think 6? copper heat pipes

  • 1 x fingerprint reader (not sure how to get it to work properly)

  • 1 x dedicated left and right buttons

  • LTE/WLAN compatibility (ability to add LTE ability to the laptop)

  • 1920 x 1080 Matte, G-SYNC 60Hz laptop display, 15.6"

  • 1.2" thick, 6.6lbs.

Desktop questions are off-topic in the laptop forum.

On a serious note, are you THE ReHabman? Thank you for the VoodooPS2Controller kexts! They work beautifully for my Hackintosh build. Otherwise, I think I have ironed out the 1070 sluggish bugs by correctly injecting the values for my CPU. It's not a big deal. Thanks man for your help!

Yes. And a lot of other kexts, guides, FAQs, etc.
Note that original work that enabled the PS2 kexts was actually done at NeXT (which eventually was purchased by Apple).

Yeah... implementing CPU PM is a relatively important task...

Wow I didn't know that! That's why when I tried NEXTSTEP on VMware, there were PS2 drivers already in there

Hey Bach

I getting a similar problem too.

Do you mind sharing your solution with more details, please?

Thanks!
