Sierra Desktop/Realtek AppleHDA Audio

ALC887 working in Sierra PB5. Almost perfect.

Sound goes mute when, for example, I watch a video on youtube and after the video has played, I do nothing for ~10 secs. Then audio stops working. If I resume music right after the video has played, or do something else that triggers sound, it will not mute.

I have to manually reset the driver with this command: "sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext"

And even then only my USB DAC shows up on sound menu.

I ran Clover Configurator and enabled "Reset HDA" and "AFGLowPowerState". Looks like it's working now.

Ran audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0b0.command on macOS Sierra 10.12 Beta 7 (16A304a) and audio appears fine. Thanks !

I have a Asus Rampage X99 and I tried using your script but it gets stuck during the process after the "Download kext patches" message.
Is the script support this motherboard yet ?

The script audio_cloverALC-120 gets stuck during the process when I execute it.
On el capitan, the script audio_cloverALC-110.command was working without any issue but it's not compatible with Sierra

I finally fixed it. It was an error in the script where it loops to remove previous AppleHDAController fixes. I had to remove directly in the config.plist in order to not get stuck and add the X99 line after that.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but at the last part of the terminal command running shown below I get into a loop of it asking for my password over and over...

In response to my own problem, I left it a while and the computer went into sleep mode (terminal still open at asking for password again). When I woke it up I purposely just hit enter to give wrong password and it asked for password again, upon putting in the correct password it went through the motions and completed successfully. Very happy with that. Not sure why it wasn't working then did, but maybe do what I did if you have same issue.
