Installation Guide For Using Clover on the Intel Haswell NUC

I am not sure why, but for me the audio injection via the HDAIDT kext does not seem to be working.

So at the moment I suggest removing the kext from S/L/E and instead using the attached.

Please note attached kext has no functional audio input, but the output sounds fine on my hifi and does not seem to be dependent on sys preferences being open/closed. YMMV as they say....

I am also putting together a simpler Clover installation guide (i.e. one that includes doing a from scratch install) that I'll be posting as part of a User Build log. I have done my own install process so many times now (!) due to playing around with systems etc that I think the process might be worth setting down for others.

BTW, There seems to be no need anymore to patch the Azulframebuffer (either in Clover, or by terminal patch) as everything works just fine without it on current Mavericks versions.

WD feel free to try out the AppleHDA.kext on your installs. :)

Thanks! I dont have a major issue with no inputs. Full working output is more important to most users i reckon. Couldnt a simple usb adapter be used for those who need the inputs anyway ?

Ill give the attached one a test this evening.

Will this work for Ivy Bridge NUC, like the DC3217BY?

I am pretty certain that Clover would be a good boot loader for the Ivy Bridge NUC - however, of course the settings and especially the DSDT/SSDT files would be different.

Any idea if such a DSDT exists? If now, how hard would it be to create my own?

As for DSDT extraction and modification I recommend you read the Wonkey Donkey original install thread for the NUC as that goes through the general steps. Also there are some posts in that thread that I wrote which give every little detail of some typical patches and problem solving methods for getting an error free DSDT.

Thetrystero, post the DSDT and I'll take a look at it. Im fairly up to date with what works and what doesnt, Im sure they wont be so different. At the very least we can work on it together and probably get you up and running.

Update to 10.9.4 all fine, no issues with Clover patching of Kernel, just the need to swap out AppleHDA.kext again.
