Hi,

I would like to dual boot windows 8.1 and mavericks on the same disk, but I cant seem to find if this is possible, let alone if it will work on my laptop.

here's the specs:

Yes.

See compat. info here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-compatibility/106791-laptop-compatibility.html

This series has been hacked successfully (I had one for a while) and full DSDT patches are available to make most things work: https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-Envy-DSDT-Patch

Great! I had seen some of the compatibility pages, but i wasnt quite sure. It's good to know its been done before at least. but how to dual-boot mavericks and win 8.1 from the same drive? if it's not possible, ill just get a second hard drive.

You can dual-boot (on the same drive or separate drives), but the procedures you use depend on the bootloader you plan to use. My suggestion with UEFI systems is to use Clover. And Clover has several advantages over Chameleon when it comes to Haswell (because patching the kernel is necessary and Clover patches it automatically).

For using Clover, I suggest you read here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-mavericks/112383-guide-install-mavericks-clover-bootloader.html. Filter appropriately as some information is HP ProBook specific (omit HPFanReset.efi, for example).
