I am not sure if formatting with a disk utility creates a bootable flash drive.
I suggest a reliable, proven method.
Download the Mojave installation file from AppStore.
And create an installation disk.
(We only need an EFI partition.)
Create it with a command in the terminal:
Replace MyVolume in these commands with the name of your volume.
And only then copy EFI to the created flash drive.
If you have exactly the same laptop model you don't need to change anything in the config or other settings.
Copy it "as is".
And try to boot.
I only found Big Sur on AppStore. Downloaded it and created installation disk, then mounted EFI partition and put EFI folder from github.
I still can't boot USB drive.
I'll try with another USB drive, but I used this one to install Big Sur in another hack last month without any issues...
Installation ends after some reboots as usual, but now when I try to boot macos from opencore (still from USB), progress bar starts at 90%, and then at 100% computer reboots.
If I start with Clover, it get stuck on apple logo.
