Installed High Sierra 10.13.4 using uni-beast 8.3.1 and post install using Multi-beast 8.2 the process was smooth without any minor issues even, like an original mac :headbang:.

Also I did not change anything in the config.plist file, I just verified my apple store account and updated iTunes to the latest version, iBooks works without the need for any batch, I dont use messages and FaceTime.

Big thanks to all the members who made this process easy for us.

Could you please share your EFI and the bios configuration.

I got the freeze randomly when installing High Sierra.

Thank you.

I do think however that "random freezes" suggest a hardware problem. What RAM are you using? Gigabyte have a "recommended memory" list and I would stick to that. Corsair Vengeance work well for me.

One thing to make sure when installing from USB is to ensure you are using USB 2.0, rather than 3.0. (A 2.0 stick on a 3.0 port will be fine.)

I'm trying to install again using Mutibeat instead of vanilla install.

I think the freeze caused by HD530. Before i used 750 TI without any problem but now i gave away 750 TI and using HD530 and getting this issue.

Thank so much and i will ping you after installing :D

Make sure to allocate 128 of preallocated memory in your bios settings ...
Thanks but i already did that after searching google.

now im reinstalling and will inform you later.

After installing that using unibeast and mutibeast the issue still happens.

I attached my EFI as attachment.

About bios, I updated to latest version and the configuration like page 1:

  • Press DEL during boot to access BIOS
  • In BIOS Features:
    • Fast Boot: Disabled
    • VT-d: Disabled
    • Windows 8/10 Features: Other OS
    • LAN PXE Boot Option ROM: Disabled
    • Storage Boot Option Contro: UEFI Only
    • Network Stack: Disabled
  • In Peripherals:
    • Initial Display Output: PCIe 1 Slot (if graphics card installed) or IGFX (otherwise)
    • XHCI Hand-off: Enabled
  • In Chipset:
    • VT-d: Disabled
Please help to take a look. Thank so much

In the BIOS, set CSM to enabled for graphics compatibility.

How to find CSM on bios. I could not find it.

It could be that the CSM setting is only available on newer mainboards (sorry, but I don't have the Z170N ready right now). If so, then my mistake.

However, have you made any progress otherwise?

Thanks.

I decided to install Mojave to know this issue by hardware or just OS.

Thanks again.

From what I remember, the issues you described to me looked like a hardware issue - even with too many patches implemented. I suggest running a RAM test (with Rember for instance). What RAM and what SSD/HDs are you using?
thank you for your suggestion.

I'm using NVMe OCZ. Today I got sys logs about this freeze.

Jul 1 08:55:42 Dieps-iMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.displaypolicyd[1573]): Service exited with abnormal code: 1
Jul 1 08:55:42 Dieps-iMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.displaypolicyd): Service only ran for 0 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds.

do you have any idea?
