mine freezes a lot
in reading about stability i've heard that if you can run prime95 for a day and run concurrent geek bench scores, then you're solid. this is not true though because my system can do that stuff,
but it will also crash A LOT. running video programs or photoshop does it a lot. also it just randomly crashes. and when copying large folders 500+G in size finder crashes.

i have the 770-4g was thinking of switching to another mac compatible card ... but people say the 770 works so i don't know what to think

Hi,

i successfully installed a GTX480 and a GTX 770 4GB in my system. The Problem is, that the cuda/opencl speed of both Cards is terrible compared to the Speeds on a win machine! (Luxmark: 2600 Points on Win7, 1400 Points on OSX10.9.3)

Is this some kind of known Problem?!

Any help would be amazing!

Thanks,

Pcace

I just also want to join in here and say that even though it seem to work (i don't really know his to test it), my Gigabyte Geforce GTX 770 4GB OC seems to be under performing a lot in my Hack. I have tried to just install a simple game (Omerta) and i get lagging while just panning the camera. I guess the driver support isn't very good. Of course this card performs much more than this while booted in Windows.

I have installed the CUDA drivers (ver 6.0.46). :|

hello! maybe some can shed some light into my problem im having. recently upgraded my graphics from ATI 5700HD to Zotac GeForce GTX 770 (4GB). i am running Mavericks 10.9.5. system boots just fine, mac recognizes the card etc but anytime i try to play any games, the game either crashes on boot or after a few minutes into the game it self. the crash log shows something with open_gl
now, are there upgraded drivers for this card for osx? i remember seeing that the drivers they had for osx was for the 980 series etc. thanks!

What a lot of people tend to forget when upgrading video cards is that they often won't have enough clean power for the new card. If you're running a GTX770, you should have AT LEAST a 500W power supply, and good amp ratings on the +12V rail (I'd say over 40A). I will be upgrading my 550W PSU to a 750W, as I'm replacing my GTX260 with a GTX760 or 770 shortly. I drive a Core i7-3770, the GTX card, two 7200RPM WD 1TB drives and a Crucial MX100 SSD, as well as a self-contained water cooler. 750W is what I'll need for safety's sake.

I tend to go with Corsair PSUs, opting for the HX line because of their very clean/stable power profile. Expensive, but why worry about $100 over the 4-5 years you're going to use it? Skip one coffee at Starbucks per week. :)

EDIT: I should add that I've been a hardware tech in the PC world (as well as working as an Apple-certified bench tech at an Apple Specialist) for decades now. When people tell me they get crashes in games after a short amount of time, I go to the hardware questions: What have you added lately to the system? Is there enough cooling for all of your devices? Is your power supply large enough to handle what you have installed now (and will it allow for future expansion)? Do you have clean power at the wall (using a line conditioner or battery backup unit of decent quality)?

Only after I get good answers on those questions will I start looking at software. That's just my experience, but about 70% of the time gamers will fail at least one of these questions, and it's a quick fix for them. Much easier than dinking about with drivers and installed application compatibility!

Ok, sorry for the bump but this does kinda concern me

What's the deal, will the 770 work at all or is it just the 4gb version thats bugs out and when the guy mentioned issues with the 780's, Again, what kind of issues and 2 or 4 gb?

I am building a hack pro soon (Amazon list if interested) and currently have a 760 in the list, I want more power but can't afford a 9 series card so a 780 is looking to be a good option IF it will work well in OS 10

hello thank you for the reply. i failed to mention that i do have a beefy enough psu, it is a GTX750W. i currently have two SSDs on the system, a 2TB storage drive and another 1TB storage drive.
for some reason this hickups seems to be either a driver issue or the card not being compatible at 4gb.
