I was planning on purchasing this cheap PCIe card. Will it work? What will I need to do to make it work? And BTW can I use any SATA DVD drive?

If it is a second generation card you might only need to add its device id to NVDAN50Hal.kext info.plist.
Procedure:

- Fresh install of ML
- Boot using the UniBeast with -x boot flag
- make a backup of /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50Hal.kext "elsewhere"
- edit /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50Hal.kext/Contents/Info.plist to modify the IOPCIPrimaryMatch string list according to the PCI id of your card

Why not just use a card already(still) working in ML?

I am building a new Hackintosh system. Does this card support QE/CI? Do I need to Multibeast anything? I was planning to install SL 10.6.8.

If installing 10.6.x, card needs nothing extra to make it work. Plug'n'Play.
