GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 with UEFI and only 2 P-States!

Hey
Looks like it speedstepping does work properly if you leave the CPU at stock speed after all. I was using the wrong SSDT from MultiBeast (the overclocked one).
Any idea why overclocking and overclock SSDT don't work?
Anyone know how to extract/make your own SSDT? I always get lost trying!

I'm in the same boat, same motherboard as well but I have an Intel Core i3 Processor with only two P-States (13x and 31x).

Were you able to figure this out?

Can i ask for some help?

My hack: i5-2500 + Z68MA-D2H-B3 rev 1.3 w/ UEFI U1B + HD6450 1024MB

After Lion (10.7.4 or Mountain Lion 10.8) and Multibeast installed, without any DSDT.
here is my config about multibeast : http://i.imgur.com/PuNz7.png
my hack cant work perfect with manual sleep/shutdown.

manual sleep: auto-wake from sleep after 3-5s.
shutdown: auto-reboot (restart) after shutdown 3-5s.

and there is problem on my monitor resolution.
org.chameleon.boot.plist with GE=yes, AtiConfig=Duckweed, PCIRootUID=0
--->1. Graphic Card recognize correct as HD6450 1024MB
--->2. my monitor can't not be recognize and work at 1440x1050 which is not the standard resolution (1680x1050) for it.
But if with GE=No
--->1. Graphic Card recognized as HD6xxx 1024MB
--->2. Monitor can be recognized correct as Benq FP202WA and work at the right resolution (1680x1050).

Why i cant make my hack just work perfect with native power manage?
Do i need a DSDT for U1B bios to fix the power problem?

My guess, probably there os something with the graphic card.

Hd6450 Tends to be picky.

Can you try any other card?

im afraid i can't, because i dont have another card. But the first problem i want to solve is power manag.

and i have to update the info. (my card HD6450 1024mb[device id:6779, vendor id:1002], my monitor BenQ FP202WA)

In 10.7.4, Boot.plist with GE=yes, AtiConfig=Duckweed, AtiPorts=3, PCIRootUID=0
-> Graph Card recog as HD6450 1024MB, Monitor recogas "VGA Display" and resolution is 1440x1050
Turn GE=No (still in 10.7.4)
-> Graph Card recog as HD6850 1024MB (why not HD6xxx ?) and Monitor not change just same as above.

In 10.8 Boot.plist with same param as 10.7.4 (GE=Y)
-> Graph Card recog as HD6450 1024MB, Monitor recog as "VGA Display" and resolution is 1440x1050
Turn GE=No
-> Graph Card reocg as HD6xxx 1024MB, Monitro recog as "BenQ FP202WA" and resolution is 1680x1050 (perfect!).

AND i got the wave ripple both in 10.7.4 and 10.8, in all type (HD6xxx, HD6450, HD6850).

looks like you should play with ATIConfig= (name of framebuffer to load)

anyway, i warn you, i tried hard to get fully working two different cards with this chip (sapphire 512, and 1gb version) both failed to work 100%, the most i was able to get is fully QE/CI, good working HDMI and DVI ports, but no energy throttling, and even the card was stopping the computer to sleep. And i had problems every time i updated the OS.

im not saying you can not make it work, just sayin you will probably save a lot of time (now and in the future) if you just go grab one of the new, fully supported, lower-end, nvidia cards)

depend on the smbios definitions ( which mac you pretend)
imac doesnt speedstep at all ( only 2, 16 + turbostates)
