Fix Sleep on Sierra

Status
Not open for further replies.
I've got a sleep/wake problem too, going from one extreme (sleep eventually crashes to Clover boot screen) to another (no sleep at all).

Initially my sleep configuration (darkwake=8) would sleep & wake for a while, but eventually would crash and in the morning i would have the Clover boot picker.
I hypothesized that the problem was that both standby and autopoweroff were set to 1 (based on the fact that the last log entry corresponded to the timestamp of the sleep image file) (even though hibernatemode was defaulted to 0 by Multibeast (?)).

I disabled (set 0) standby and autopoweroff using pmset.

Things appeared to be working fine. After 24 hours, I found that the computer would wake up (power light, fans, etc), but the screen would activate but not display. Eventually the pc would reboot back to the Clover boot picker screen.

I added @VoiletDragon's SSDT-LP.aml (because I didn't see AppleLP in ioreg) and activated the ACPI SAT0 to SATA find/replace patch.

After making those changes, now i am not getting any sleep happening.

Here's a summary of my pmset values:

Code:
hackintosh01:~ bradtaylor$ pmset -g
System-wide power settings:

 standby 0
 Sleep On Power Button 1

About the only thing that i see that isn't 'optimal' is CsrActiveConfig set to 0x3 (rather than 0x67).

I'm left scratching my head a bit now.

I've attached Clover folder & ioreg - any volunteers to check, please? @VoiletDragon, can you have a quick look?

Any other ideas? thanks... Brad

update 1
Upon review of the Clover folder, i see that i had NullCPUPowerManagement.kext loaded. I've removed that and will retest.

Ioreg is corrupt please use version 2.1. NullCPUPowermanagement is never needed with Clover and defiantly not needed on your hardware. [Guide] How to Make a Copy of IOReg | tonymacx86.com

I return after trying a few DSDT fixes made by an user in another forum, trying to fix the KP issue on wake-up. I set up the whole OS from scratch without Uni and Multibeast and removed the generated SSDT (Powermanagement seems to work without, I'm not completely sure hence the other thread in this forum, AppleLPC and x86PlatformPlugin are loaded properly), but the problem still persists.
I attached an IOReg and my CLOVER folder and would be very grateful for any directions again. Here is also the panic log after sleep which I don't understand at all.
Thanks!

SATA is coming under SAT0 need to rename SAT0 to SATA in DSDT. Not quite sure on why you have SSDT-USB never a good idea to have a DSDT with a SSDT that patches ACPI. Its either the one or the other.

Can't upgrade to the latest OS versions because of it. Please, have a look on config and ioreg. Thanks a million!

Thanks for the look @VoiletDragon.

Here's a .ioreg from v 2.1 and the active Clover directory from the ESP.

Appreciate your help. :)

PS. Overnight stats (no reboot):

Code:
hackintosh01:~ bradtaylor$ pmset -g stats
Sleep Count:13
Dark Wake Count:12
User Wake Count:1

ACPI isn't patched. No SMBUS or MCHC device, XHC/USB 3 configuration is messy.

Broken Sleep is caused by USB 3. Etron EJ168 is not supported 10.11+. Better to disable it and not use sleep.

The reason why it is not working is you haven't added change _DSM to XDSM to ACPI, DSDT, Patches in config. Look at acpi_dsdt_patches on my Github. https://github.com/VoiletDragon/Series-100-Patches. Note ACPI is not patched correctly.

Ok. LPC looks loaded and X86Platform looks right but here is the my problem; When I make sleep, first display sleep then after 30 seconds fans are stopped. But when touch mouse, keyboard or power button fans are start working but Display does not come back. After 1 minutes computer makes restarting itself.

I tried all Darkwake one by one and disabled all settings on Energy Saver. But it does not help. I attached my latest ioreg and config.

What do you suggest me what can I try? Thanks.

I tried all Darkwake one by one and disabled all settings on Energy Saver. But it does not help. I attached my latest ioreg and config.

What do you suggest me what can I try? Thanks.

Id disable onboard iGPU it is not needed with dedicated Graphics and pointless having both enabled.

I don't get it what you mean? My GTX 660 disabled with nv_disable=1 and IGPU is primary on BIOS. Should I remove the GTX 660 from my case?

No. Disable onboard iGPUand use the GTX660 instead its native. HD 530 has issues with Black Screens out of sleep.
