Fix Sleep on Sierra

Status
Not open for further replies.
I have pretty much the same issue like what #1 said. When I made the Hackintosh sleep, the screen blank out as usual, but the fan keeps spinning and the speed of waking up is very fast that I believe it doesn't even sleep but just keep awake. Sleeping used to working on El Capitan.
I've try to read the comment below but I don't really understand what's going on. Sorry I'm a beginner.
darkwake=0 doesn't help.

"pmset -g log" doesn't output any error message during the sleep.

The attachment is the ioreg.

ASUS Z170M-Plus
i7-6700
GTX-970
Toshiba + Intel 535 Fusion Drive

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry for replying again, as I believe I forgot to attach the Clover zip. Also, I have no DSDT and SSDT attached as I did it before and it doesn't boot up properly, and everything used to work (including sleep and wake) without DSDT and SSDT attached. By the way, every function is working fine after waking.

Hi VioletDragon, could you help me with that? Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone!

I'm sort of a noob here and would be grateful for any help with this.
Everything except sleep, hdmi sound and iCloud is working. But sleep is my biggest concern at the moment.

When I press sleep my screen goes dark, nothing else happens except I can't wake the computer up and have to restart it.
Shutdown doesn't work either, it merely reboots.

I've tested darkwake=0,1,3,8,10
I also noticed that I haven't got a x86 entry, I can find SAT0 and not SATA in my IOReg.

Based on prior answers this is a bad thing.
I tried adding SAT0 to SATA my config.plist without any luck. I didn't dare follow though with this because all the ssdt:s were based on 9 series mobos.

Definitions:
iMac 14,2

Hardware:
cpu: i5 - 4670K
mobo: GA-Z87X-OC
graphics: Nvidia GTX 760, Intel 4600

I'm attaching my clover folder and my IOReg.

With love Jothu010

Hi, s3131212 here again. Still waiting for help. To remind and save time watching the thread before, my issue is: monitor blanks out as usual, but fan keeps spinning and the system wakes up immediately (waking up only takes less than a sec, used to take more than 5 sec in El Capitan) so I don't think it goes to sleep properly. darkwake=0 doesn't help. No SSDT and DSDT is attached, and everything worked fine on El Capitan. Attaching SSDT caused kernel panic before, so I'm wondering is attaching SSDT required to solve the problem.

My hardware:
ASUS Z170M-PLUS
Intel Core i7-6700
GTX970
Toshiba + Intel 535 Fusion Drive

I found out I misunderstood the output of pmset -g log. Here's the log

VioletDragon,

Please disregard my previous message (#208).
As I think I figured it out. I think.
I found the Quick Guide to Generate a SSDT for CPU Power Management, followed it exactly and rebooted.
Hopefully this fixed the Native CPU Management issue you were seeing in my IoReg file.
I'm attaching a new IoReg and Clover.zip.
Please check to see if there are any other issues.

No SSDT for Powermanagement in EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched. Most likely not read the Quick Guide to Generate a SSDT for CPU Power Management correctly.

Cant tell much without ioreg attached. [Guide] How to Make a Copy of IOReg | tonymacx86.com

Hey VioletDragon,
I wanted to move this conversation back to this thread.
I let my computer go to sleep last night around 1am Eastern and when I woke up this morning around 9:30am it was still sleeping. But I just came back down to my office and I noticed the computer had woken back up, but I could tell it was a restart.
So I logged in and I was confronted with the "Your computer was restarted" message along with the "Problem Report for macOS" dialogue box. I clicked "Report" to copy the information down and the computer again restarted, so I wasn't able to get the panic info from the first restart out of wake, but I did get to copy the report after the secondary restart.

Here's what it said.
Let me know if you can see what caused the panic.

I used SSDT-LPC from your fork but it does not load. I am seeing LPCB in ioreg.

I attached my files; could you please help me with that?

The reason why it is not working is you haven't added change _DSM to XDSM to ACPI, DSDT, Patches in config. Look at acpi_dsdt_patches on my Github. https://github.com/VoiletDragon/Series-100-Patches. Note ACPI is not patched correctly.

Native CPU Powermanagement is not implemented. AppleLPC is not loaded. No SMBUS or MCHC device. ACPI needs patching.

I attached the SSDT and the fan stop spinning after sleep. However, after sleeping for few hours, the fan start spinning for unknown reason and won't stop until I wake it up and put it back to sleep. Internet Sharing is disabled, Printers are removed, but Time Machine and Spotlight is enabled, not sure whether it caused the problem.

Could you check whether everything is fine or is there something waiting to be fixed for me? Thanks a lot.

The file attached are the ioreg and Clover.
