OK...Frustrating. CodecCommander.kext was in the /Library/Extensions folder already. I replaced it with the one that you provided. I repaired the permission and rebuilt the cache. I also changed the layout_id to 4. Still no sound. Attached is an updated ioreg file.

Sorry. I am sure this is as frustrating for you as it is for me.

The ioregistryexplorer dump shows me that everything is alright. If you use the correct jack and it still does not work after sleep, we need to change the streams.

Copy "hda-verb" to /usr/local/bin, drag the script to the terminal window and show me the output.

With which options should I run hda-verb?

I get the following:

hda-verb for CodecCommander (based on alsa-tools hda-verb)

usage: hda-verb [option] nid verb param

-l List known verbs and parameters

-L List known verbs and parameters (one per line)

No options, the script calls hda-verb. Drag the script to the terminal window and hit enter.

So, I may be missing it, but I am not seeing a script to drag to the terminal window. I hope that am not being thick here, but I see hda-Verb in the directory, but I am unclear which script to which you are referring.

I'm sorry, I forgot to attach it. Here it is

Hi folks, I urgently need help coz Last night everything still alright but the next day all of sudden my system no sound at all!
My board is Gaming 7 with H.Sierra 10.13.6, I follow this thread post#1 : AppleALC + Lilu in Cover kext / Others, CodecCommander.kext in /L/E. Untouched AppleHDA in S/L/E, layout-ID set to 4. My system audio output can see all the devices, even Bluetooth but just no sound come out! I wondering it is hardware problem?

one thing is weird in my ioreg showing the HDEF layout ID : 7, if I set to 7 there is no devices at all!

Here I attached ioreg and 2 snaps hope you guys can help me out please ! ! !
