Best Build around i9-10900k for music production

If you have no Polaris or newer AMD card you'll have to use the UHD630 iGPU. Return it and get the non-F version.

Correct. And even with a dGPU you might want to have an iGPU for transcoding and to use a perfectly matching iMac SMBIOS rather than iMacPro1,1/MacPro7,1.
Return it and insist to get a 10900K without F. (If the seller no longer has a 10900K in stock, you won't lose in performance with a 10850K or 10900 and a refund of the price difference.)
 
The seller no longer has a 10850 or a 10900k in stock and he told me that he would refund $30 if I keep the 10900kf or he will refund the total if I will return it.
Now I have all the components less the cpu I need:banghead:
At this point what to do having Gigabyte Z490 Vision G ?
To find another seller where to buy a 10900k or 10850k ? a build with a 11900k would work ?

We all have different ideas on what makes a good PC. For example you might wish to keep the 10900KF and get the $30 refund - and if so you then need a compatible graphics-card. You mention going as far as Big Sur and if that is the case you could just buy a NVidia GT710 or GT730. These offer roughly similar performance to an iGPU but can be bought with more memory. The GT730, for example, is often sold with 4GB.

If you are an audio editor this will be fine, but if you wish to edit video too then these two are not very impressive. In that case you would probably be better going for an RX570 or RX580 GPU.

As you can see, probably the cheapest option would be to return the "KF" and get a "K" instead. However the UHD 630 iGPU is not as powerful as an RX card.

No support for iGPU with a 11900K. The best solution for compatibility is to find a 10th generation CPU.

Out of curiosity, I just checked and had no trouble finding an i9-10900K from known reliable shops here (Netherlands); i9-10900 and i9-10850K are also available, tough with less offers and… for slightly higher prices than the i9-10900K. :eek: This smells of end-of-stock.
Hopefully it shouldn't be too difficult to find an i9-10900K in your local market as well.

yes, about an i9-10900k, the prices now are very high !!! can you indicate some good online shops there?
 
Forum rules do not like price engines, and I don't know where to look for in Italy.
The closest I can get is looking in Germany and Austria, using a well-known Austrian site, and I do find the i9-1900K for about 400 E (marginally lower than in the Netherlands) from sellers which ship to other countries, including sellers I have bought from such as Jakob Electronics. 10900 and 10850K are slightly more expensive than 10900K, which make little sense, but illustrates the need to shop around.

I would also need to buy a firewire 400 or 800 pci card. The cheaper one compatible with my system. Any advice ?
Having a Gigabyte z490 vision G, I don't know if the solution firewire to usb 3.2 usb-c adapters is possible. I need to save in digital format tapes from a Sony 8mm with dv-out firewire 400 4 pin port. I have a firewire 400 cable 4 pin to 6 pin.
