Asus N53SN-XR2

I have an Asus N53SN-XR2 laptop, OS X Mountain Lion was able to be installed onto the computer, however, the graphics is only half functional.
The laptop picks up on the Intel HD 3000 and the max resolution of this laptop 1366x768 but it does not have graphics acceleration enabled.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm not worried about anything else, I just want the video card to be fully utilized.

Intel i7-2630QM 2.0GHz
Intel HD 3000 + nVidia GT 550M 2GB
(I know the nVidia switching tech is not supported, but i just want the HD 3000, nVidia not necessary)
4GB 1333MHz RAM

How did you create an install USB??

Every time I try to install i get kernel panic.

wow I know this is so late, but i had to use -x very time i boot, so into safemode...
