I have Sapphire HD7950 3GB, but itis about 30% when exporting h264 videoin Final Cut Pro x 10.4.5 on Mojave 10.14.4.
I did experiments: RX 580 works on 100% load. Also (instead they say Nvidia is not supported in Mojave) my GTX 760 2GB loads on 100% on exporting/rendering operations.
I had this GPU working with High Sierra 10.13.4 flawlessly and used Final Cut Pro 10.4.3.
Today, I just updated to 10.13.6 using dodsude mod (Radeon 79XX series patch checked) and now my OS glitches, works slowy loading animations of OS.
But worse than all is that Final Cut Pro 10.4.5 doesn't...
My computer suddenly restarts due to kernel panic every time I try to write/share video in Final Cut Pro and iMovie.
Any ideas? I saw this post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/help-please-kernel-panic-in-fcpx.258629/ but I'm not sure if it applies to me or how to change my filesystem...
I plan on getting the Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB for 4K editing on Final Cut Pro, with the Intel Core i5-8600K and OC to save $$$. I was wondering if I'm better off with the higher powered GPU and the non-HT i5, or if I should just got for i7-8700 minimum?
Wasn't sure if Final Cut Pro would...
For the purposes of this post, here are my current settings:
GPU (Vega 56) and IGPU (Intel HD 630) are enabled in BIOS
PCIE (Vega 56) is primary display (connected to monitor)
Inject Intel disabled in Clover (prevents use of IGPU in Final Cut Pro X)
Lilu and Whatevergreen kexts installed...

I am in the early planning stages of building a powerful workstation that would be used mainly for VJing (Resolume Arena 6), editing (FCPx, After Effects) and possibly 3D real-time renders in TouchDesigner.
Based on the July 18 Buying Guides, I am leaning towards a configuration like this...

I'm thinking on upgrading graphic adapters. Since I use Final Cut it seems like AMD is the way to go now, but I'm wondering if a setup with dual cards will perform better.
I've been looking at the ITX versions of the Sapphire 570 Pulse 4Gb, since I use a rack case and my space is...

I'm currently an iMac user (for editing on Final Cut Pro X) and at one point had built a separate PC for gaming. I ended up selling my PC to upgrade for better gaming performance. I’m now wanting to sell my iMac and built the ultimate all in one package. I want to build a Hackintosh so I can...
This is my first post, so I hope this is in the right place. I bought an MSI GeForce GTX 1080 for my new (hopefully) Hackintosh build, and I had a question about Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X compatibility with my graphics card. From what I've read on the forum so far, AMD...
I have been really satisfied with my build, a 8-core XEON 2665 2.4ghz with 16GB ram and SSD, including a Sapphire Radeon 7870 2GB graphics card, except for one thing. My 2013 Macbook Pro (15," quad-core 2.3ghz i7, 750ti 2GB) handily outperforms it in Final Cut Pro X and other tasks. So...
So I bought a XFX AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB from Best Buy.
I did a clean install of High Sierra, I got FCP X downloaded from the Store and when I try to import, make a new...
Final cut pro is having trouble rendering non pro codecs. I assume its a quicktime issue but not sure if anyone has any insight. I can render things like prores and such, but when trying to render MOV I get a failed to render error. Any suggestions?
Hello, ever since updating to High Sierra, I have been unable to render videos from final cut pro x. 4790k and asus rog strix 480 for hardware. Compressor fails every time and final cut pro can only make a render file.
Hello, my name is Dhani. I'm planning to build Hackintosh running on OS X Sierra 10.12.6 with this hardware specs:

Can anyone tell me if the R9 280X is still the recommended card for video editing in Final Cut Pro X? If so, can someone please send me a link of exactly what brand/version they would recommend? I will be editing mainly 4K video and have concerns that there isn't a 6gb version. Is the 3gb...
