Jaap, would you like a free G5 to ATX cable if you are in the uk? I just found the one I used on my build and I'd rather post it to someone than throwing it in the bin.
Mine is the same. Its due to the front of the case being bent. I just kept hiting mine till it was fixed with a small hammer. Now, when the drive opens/closes, so does the door, but if i manually open the door all the way down it still sticks. Youre not alone!
None of these are related to customisation just so you know.
1. no idea, I have a BD-RW and it comes up as all the BD modes supported, so cant help there. Worked on SL too.
2. about this mac doesnt matter, its aesthetic. Means you probably have a wrong smbios.plist installed. Google is your...
Look on wikipedia, it has a great explanation of them
Basically it can provide increased or decreased resistance to failure depending on the setup.
e.g, Raid 0 and 1 both have 2 drives, but raid 0 is one volume spanned over 2 drives, so if one failed like you say, its ****ed.
Raid 1 is both...
Well semi water cooling with an integrated solution like the corsair h series could be the way to go. But then again, my arctic cooling freezer 13 pro barely cost anything, is very very good and quiet, and doesn't overlap any slots.
I too would like a next. Have a voodoohda working. Partially. Only one output. And at high ends or low ends, its sketchy. So Ok for daily use, but tried to watch wanted the other day and the sound with gunshots was horrible and had to turn off.
No previous solutions work sadly. Well for me anyway.
WRT installing, best thing to do to save each install possibly screwing up the other is to disconnect the other drive when installing.
And WRT cossing an OS, http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=664
Maybe instant menu=yes could be what you need.
A few people on insanelymac have used the actual g5 mobo, and then soldered wires onto the connector solder points on the back side of it. Then soldered extension wires onto those wires and connected those wires to their mobo.
you have to connect the usb ground to something or the LED wont work. And I think PW will turn it on but without ground but you cant hold it to turn it off forcibly. Thats how it was with my G5 anyway. Only power button worked until I took the ground out of the FW header and connected it to a...
The best 775 processor is a QX9660 I think. Unlocked multiplier for overclocking. But will cost a silly amount. So may as well upgrade to a sandybridge system as the whole mobo cpu and ram will cost about the same amount. Or wait till early 2012 when SB-e comes out and then you can go for socket...
Fair play. Luckily I can pick up a MP case, 4 sleds, front panel board, hdd cables and rear fan for 125GBP. Hopefully doing mine early october/november when I go back to university, but just a simple cutout for the mobo ports, with an insert for the port cover. Much like aquamac's earliest MP...
This is up there in the top 2 or 3 mods that have cut the case. The amount of work you have put in is epic. Must take so long. I even screwed up cutting a hole in the case because I am so back handed and I ended up with a bigger hole than the mono tray. How you have got this far with it looking...
Similar position here. But building it for OS X for general use, then windows for star CCM+ (CFD for uni) and then might do some folding on it. So because of the latter two, want some top level stuff.
I get that the 2600k is better than the quad core 930, but is it better than the 970? I am...
Firstly, as long as your bluetooth works, then the trackpad works. On SL, no driver is required IIRC. My one works perfectly, so the main thing is to get a bluetooth adapter that works, which a quick google helped me find out, and you'll be fine.
