    1280x800 resolution and PB installer?

I'm awaiting an elitebook 2760p to arrive, but just checked the specs and screen resolution is 1280x800. Probook installer allows selection of only 1366x768 or 900x1600. It does not (from what I can see) offer other resolutions, and no "ignore" option. Has anyone any idea what I need to do to...

    No sound, 4540s and Mavericks

Well, my ML Hackintosh ran for over a year very well, so I didn't want to upgrade to Mavericks and risk wrecking the system. However, I needed to use a program in Windows and this led to boot failure (I suspect some kind of virus) so that finally prompted my system upgrade. I have a working...

HDMI, touchpad and other setup options?

After installing 10.8.3 directly using PBI 6.1b5 I noticed a few system changes to my laptop I don't really like. These are minor gripes but I prefer the previous way things were, I'd like to return to the way it was. Here are the things I notice/would like to change back. HDMI output, this...

    Boot0 issue

Would it be a possible option to "force" Chimera to write the USB boot file directly to a 4K (advanced fomat) drive as these drives are becoming the standard. It's an annoyance rather than a problem that lots of new hackintoshers, but an option to do this directly this would be nice. Pete

    4540s CPU swap guide

The 4540s has very easy access to its "changeable" components (memory, hard drive, wifi card, wan card etc) and there's a few good video guides on the HP site on how to get to and swap out these parts here...

    4540s 10.8.3 Install failed.

4540s 10.8.3 Install failed. (Solved) Hi all, I've tried to do a fresh install on my Ivybridge i5 HP with the latest "Install Mountain Lion" 10.8.3 (all updates included) app. It lets me install OK but the second Unibeast boot fails after it sets up the NTFS partitions on the drive. The system...

pci-e SSD are they any good?

There seem to be a few of these about now, I'm thinking about an SSD for the OS and a big 2.5" drive for data, but using one of these would mean not having to remove/swap the DVD drive in order to get 2 hard drives in the machine. They aren't as fast as a "proper" SSD but they must be faster...
