This looks great! I noticed that you mention DP/HDMI but will this work with DVI? I don't know if its possible but I would love to be able to control the brightness (read backlight control) of my monitor through software. However, if I can't do that through the controls of my monitor then I...
I am using HWMonitor. I think its working properly... It shows all 4 clocks being at 1.6ghz and then shows them at 3.6ghz when encoding.
For the bios issue, I am wondering if moving to the UEFI bios will fix the issue. I can't be doing something wrong as when you set the Turbo setting to...
I am having the same issue too, I think. It doesn't matter if I turn turbo to Auto or Enabled, I can't change any of the turbo values. My i5-3570k will run to 3.8 but the bios is set to a multiplier of 36.... so I can't use all the processors performance.
And kind of on a side note... what...
Last night I put some new thermal paste on because I didn't trust the stuff that came with the processor. In putting on the intel cooler back on it went on very well and snug, just like the first time. I didn't notice any drop at all in temps but I wasn't expecting to either.
Anazlu - Thats...
I'm using HWMonitor that was included in the latest version of MultiBeast. I've done some more looking and it doesn't seem that 70c during hard work is too bad for a stock cooler. I will still end up getting a good aftermarket cooler tho just because it will be doing encoding stuff at night...
Anyone with any thoughts on this? I'd like to know if it is stupid to push my system with encoding until I can get a proper CPU cooler or not. Also, recommendations for a good CPU cooler for a mATX case would be wonderful as well. Thanks guys!
For me, I had to put this into the chameleon.plist:
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>yes</string>
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1680x1050x32</string>
Its very similar, but I have no issues watching any kind of media on my system.
Same here. My post that I put up last night still hasn't shown up on the forum and the one before that took 2 days for them to post. Makes it hard to get answers to problems. Hopefully they get everything figured out soon.
I finally got ML installed, still not sure what was going on with the sluggish system. It was like running a system from the 90's, that's how slow it was!
BTW, since the original post is really no longer important, is there a way to delete this?
Not sure if this is the right place, if not, Mods please move to desired location.
I am worried about my CPU temps. At idle, according to HW Monitor (included with Multibeast) the temp reading is around 40c. I say around because I get different readings on each core with a variance of about...
Just got these parts in today from Newegg:
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 (F10) mobo
Intel Core i5-3570K CPU
HD4000 graphics
Gskill Ripjaws 8GB (4gbx2) 1600 ram
Corsair M4 64GB SSD
WD 1TB storage hdd
Apex MJ-16 mATX case
I created the UniBeast 1.5.2 install USB just fine with the Mountain...
Great parts selection! I think though that it would be important to list the different Intel graphics on the different processors. I got the i5-3570K not because of it being unlocked, but because it has the HD4000 graphics. Just my .02
Audio and BIOS version Question
Hey guys. I am getting ready in the next few weeks to start on my 2nd build. A couple questions about this motherboard. 1) What bios version are you running? Or is it UEFI version? :/ 2) for the audio I know you are using the HDMI for that, but I will be...
The case I purchased came with a power supply. Its only a 250w supply but it works great for this small machine. As for the cooling system I am just using the stock cooler that came with the CPU. Also, the system runs whisper quiet.
Just saw that there is another option for the network card (I think)... The Realtek Gig Ethernet 2.0.6 driver (3rd in the list) is a driver for the same network card correct? Just wondering why there are two separate drivers for the same card... Thanks!
Just wanted to say thanks to to you BoomR and Mieze for getting this working. This is my first post here, but I already have a hack mini of my own that I just built at work (still in the process of writing something up on that to post here) and I was looking at building another one for home...
