About this build
This was originally going to be built as a proof of concept build for a streaming media server here at work. If it worked well, I was going to build a bigger badder version. THEN we found out that Lion Server doesn't have the quicktime media streaming server anymore. The parts were already ordered though, so here we are! ;)

The system went together wonderfully. I got the parts in around 10am and had it running Lion by about 1pm. The power supply does rest right on top of the CPU fan but I don't think its going to be an issue.

It is ever so gently resting on there and that cpu cooler is SOLID so other than maybe so extra vibrations or noise I don't see it being a problem.

I also had to be careful with the hard drive placement as, on its lowest placement, barely cleared the RAM. Moving it up one spot fixed that issue.

Here is my MultiBeast config. Please let me know how my config is on this.

Only having two issues currently. One was the audio system "pop" whenever the audio system would come out of sleep. I fixed that with Robert Tomsick's Antipop app. It just runs as a service in the background keeping the audio system from sleeping.

The second issue is with my network card. I am using Lnx2Mac's Realtek driver and like a lot of other people here on the forum it doesn't like to get an IP address after it wakes from sleep or from a cold boot. Sometimes it take 3-4 restarts to get it to talk with the network. As far as I know this is my only option for this motherboard to get the LAN working so if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this that would be great.

UPDATE 7-16-12
Using the other Realtek 81xx kext in multibeast seems to have fixed the network issues. I have been able to unplug the cable and plug it back in and get an IP address. I have also been able to sleep the machine and upon waking it get an IP address. So far so good.

UPDATE 7-17-12
I added SuperIOFamily.kext and the FakeSMC.kext with KextBeast and am now able to monitor temps for the board and CPU along with the CPU fan speed. Its coming together quite nicely!

Just saw that there is another option for the network card (I think)... The Realtek Gig Ethernet 2.0.6 driver (3rd in the list) is a driver for the same network card correct? Just wondering why there are two separate drivers for the same card... Thanks!

What did you use for a power supply? Did you use a separate cooling system for the processor?

The case I purchased came with a power supply. Its only a 250w supply but it works great for this small machine. As for the cooling system I am just using the stock cooler that came with the CPU. Also, the system runs whisper quiet.

Hey its my first time building a hackintosh and i'm having a lot of trouble with getting the i3 2105's graphics to work. Right now the animations in OS X 10.7.2 are terrible, there are horizontal lines that flicker when using the launchpad and i can't use Youtube, I've tried many tutorials on the internet such as adding system definitions that make the hackintosh a "mac mini" but it doesn't work...any ideas?

wader1,
Why are you still using 10.7.2? 10.7.4 is so much better for HD3000.

Nice build.

I'm using the same case with my H61N but with a i5 2500. Love this case, nice and small.
