I did some research and I think I'm going to try editing the AMD7000Controller.kext and make sure my video card is listed first in the IOPCIMatch section. If this doesn't work I'm going to begin wondering if my card is cursed.
I'm having trouble getting my Radeon 7770 working with High Sierra. It was working fine with El Capitan using the Verde.kext, but obviously that no longer works with HS. Currently I'm using Lilu and WhateverGreen (latest versions) and the arguments -lilubetaall and radpg=15 (I've also tried...
So far no luck. It seems that whatever combination of kext and boot flags I try doesn't seem to make a difference. Currently I'm using Lilu and WhateverGreen (latest versions) and the arguments -lilubetaall and radpg=15 (I've also tried radeondeinit) but I still get a black screen with both...
Well that was an adventure. I was able to get the install option to work by booting using my Unibeast key (otherwise some options were missing and I got a KP). After what seemed like an eternity installing (I honestly thought it was reinstalling HS) it rebooted but I got a KP again. Turns out...
Yes I just got that and when I selected the install one it gets about half way through and reboots. If I select my regular hard drive it boots into HS as if I never started the update. Very odd.
I'm updating from 10.13.0 if that makes a difference.
This may have already been answered, but I couldn't find an explicit yes or no on it. I currently have a working High Sierra installation on my hard drive. I want to swap the video card for a different one, but I'm not 100% sure the new one is going to work. Since I'm going from Nvidia to AMD...
Now that I have a working copy of High Sierra I can boot into with my GTX 260, I can spend some more time exploring why the 7770 isn't working. From everything I've read Lilu and WhateverGreen should work, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm doing something wrong with the boot arguments or Kext...
Solved my issue. I was finally able to boot with Inject Nvidia, Nvidia Generic, Nvidia Single, and NV_Disable=1. Some combination of these worked and I was able to get in and swap out the bad NVDAStatup.kext. My GTX 260 now works perfectly.
Now I need to figure out how to get that Radeon 7770...

I'm having a similar issue that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I had a working El Capitan installation using my Radeon 7770 card, but that card doesn't seem to work for High Sierra so I removed it and used my old GTX 260 card instead. This seemed to work and I could get through the...
Yes I did. I tried nv_disable=1 and I unchecked Inject Nvidia but I still got the reboot. Is there another flag I need to check?
Since you've successfully installed HS on a similar system, can you share your plist and let me know what kext you use? Or can you tell me what options you use?
I...
It seems that if I don't use Nvidia Inject then the KP doesn't happen, but then a little further down the boot sequence it will eventually reboot.
Just for fun I put my Radeon card back in and of course no KP, but no picture either. The hard drive is making noise though which means it did...
I decided to swap out my Radeon for a Nvidia GTX 260 and I got the installer to appear. I installed HS but when I attempt to boot from the hard drive (after booting with the Unibeast key) I get to a point where it says:
AppleKeyStore: Operation failed (then some random PID and debug numbers)...
I've really had no luck here the last couple of days. I've tried direct video injection, Lilu/WhateverGreen, ritualistic sacrifice, but nothing has worked. Is it possible that my boot key could be corrupt? I'd think that UniBeast would have thrown an error if something was wrong, but I don't...
I think I've made progress. I disabled SIP and I had someone help me with direct injecting my video card. Now I don't get the 2-3 minute delay before the clover screen shows up. I had read somewhere that the delay meant your video card wasn't being initialized properly. I still get the black...
Good to know that it's not Nvidia specific.
AFAIK the Radeon 7770 is supported hardware (I believe it's even Metal compatible for Mojave). I've read threads with two people having the exact same hardware and one person's works and one doesn't. Sometimes these things just happen I guess, and I...
Doing some more research it appears that this error has something to do with Nvidia cards which is odd since I have a Radeon 7770. Now I'm even more confused.
I managed to see what the last thing Verbose shows before the screen goes black and it is this:
IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3 hs 0, bs 0, sm 0x0
Does this mean anything to anyone? I may try remaking my key and see if that fixes things because I'm at a complete loss right now.
Ok I've cleaned up my plist and tried a few things but nothing worked:
1. With ATI Inject
2. Without ATI Inject
3. With RadeonDeInit
When I tried the ATI Inject I got 'no signal' instead of the black screen I've been getting so I guess that means that the black screen is actually trying to...
