Lost sound after update to 10.12.6

Thanks muchly - I had forgotten about the clover installer. Sadly, using the latest version to add the RC scripts was of no help. I will move this to the audio forum.

Lost sound after update to 10.12.6

Straight to the point: Updated (via app store) to 10.12.6. Everything is fine EXCEPT that I have lost my sound - the headphone/speaker/whatever you want to call it output from the mobo has disappeared from the list of output choices. Browsing the forums I am seeing that other people with the...

[Solved] PREVIOUSLY working install from USB now stalls at first pixel of progress bar

Well. Turns out not to be needed - when I went to boot again into verbose mode from the USB, the machine wouldnt show the drive in the boot list at all. Wiped the USB, created an identical unibeast installer, rebooted again from the newly created USB and boom - works a charm. Bogus USB stick...

[Solved] PREVIOUSLY working install from USB now stalls at first pixel of progress bar

Hey gang - I've been bashing through the support threads and I haven't seen anything like this yet. In a nutshell, a previously working USB installer (the exact same USB stuck and boot that previously loaded just fine on the machine and left me up and running without issue for months) now will...

Multibeast will NOT install to system drive. No way, no how.

Yes: EFI is manually mounted - should have pointed that out in original post. And there is no log of any sort in ~/var/log/ - so, yeah.

Multibeast will NOT install to system drive. No way, no how.

Short and sweet: 1 - Successful install of El Capitan to a new SSD via Unibeast. (had to use safe mode and toggle USB ownership to ON) 2 - Successful setup of El Capitan and migration of user data and files from my old MBP. 3 - Complete and utter fail when trying to use Multibeast to install...

Can Clover install MacOS directly to an M.2 drive?

Yup - SATA III. Thanks!!!! Oh - and I can confidently say that's NOT a rumour but the rules here regarding people who are developers prohibit me (and rightfully so) from explaining the rationale for my confidence.

Can Clover install MacOS directly to an M.2 drive?

Installing to a mobo that has M.2 booting support (Gigabyte z170XP) - will out-of-the-box Clover see an M.2 drive and install MacOS to it? Or is there some editing of clover needed before it will see the M.2 drive?

Pinching pennies - will a decent hybrid drive suffice for the system drive?

I've used a pair of MBPs with hyrbid drives in them for years - they have always given more or less satisfactory performance, despite the advanced age of the rest of the hardware. So - while I see almost universal recommendations here for a SSD as the system drive, is a decent hybrid hard drive...

Why are the 270 mobos NOT listed in the Buying Guide?

I see a number of posts from folks who have H270/Z270 boards up and running ... but there are exactly zero 270 chipset boards listed in the Buying Guide. Is there any particular reason? There are precious few 170 boards left in retail, and the places that DO have them are boosting the prices...

    MultiBooting Windows and Sierra

I'll jump on here and ask the question that is kind of the obvious extension: I have a windoze 10 tower, and all of the hardware is compatable for a build. I add a new SSD and use Multibeast to install a fresh OSX install onto the SSD. At that point, when I do the Multibeast...
