Short and sweet:

1 - Successful install of El Capitan to a new SSD via Unibeast. (had to use safe mode and toggle USB ownership to ON)
2 - Successful setup of El Capitan and migration of user data and files from my old MBP.
3 - Complete and utter fail when trying to use Multibeast to install the boot loader onto the shiny new system drive.

Details:

This is the very last version of the Z170XP-SLI mobo shipped - BIOS version F21. Settings in the BIOS and Multibeast settings as per Carlosvpp's excellent post here:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/working-gigabyte-z170xp-sli-with-nvidia-9-series.201219/

EFI is manually mounted because of safe mode startup.

When I click install ... FAIL. There are exactly zero files in ~/var/log/, and multibeast.log file seems decidedly unhelpful:

06/30/17 08:14:56 - Starting MultiBeast 8.2.3-20160602
06/30/17 08:20:39 - Installing 'Bootloaders > Clover v2.3k r3423 UEFI Boot Mode'
06/30/17 08:20:42 - Install of 'Clover_v2.3k_r3423-UEFI.pkg' failed.
'installer: Package name is Clover v2.3k r3423 EFI bootloader
installer: Installing at base path /
installer: The install failed (The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
'. Exiting.

Any ideas? The threads here on Multibeast failures seem to be mostly unresolved.
