[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

Please don't mess with the UEFI hidden settings. I bricked my XPS 9550 doing this in the past. Particularly don't mess with MSR register and DVMT Preallocation settings. Extremely risky and don't want your laptops turning into paperweights. I was lucky enough to have mine under warranty when I...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

I have an XPS 9550 and I have the same problem sadly. It is an annoying problem and havent found any solution. I have tried the guide from here but nothing I try fixes it. 10.14.3 is a lot more stable and with Clover 4844 and latest kexts there is far less crashes. It might also fix VoodooPS2 on...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

I tried the force intel command already and sadly it didn't work. I will try 4 and 12 as well now but you are most likely right that it is something wrong with the IGPU config or SMBIOS. Will have to dig into it some more if 4 or 12 don't work. I believe I am using the correct SMBIOS for my...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

Awesome guide @jaymonkey. Sadly for me on my XPS 9550 every attempt to get DRM working does not work for me. I have tried 1,57 and 60 values along with reseting my configuration each time and rebooting after every change but the errors are still the same. In QuickTime I get the dreaded "This...

    ALC3266 (10ec0298) files for AppleHDAPatcher

I tested this audio patch out for the XPS 15 and the audio is muffled and distorted and only seems to work through headphones for some reason. I tried your previous patch and my computer didn't like it but I just realised that was an Kext for 10.11.4 and not 10.11.5 so of course it wouldn't work :P

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

Since Gymnae has posted this guide can one of the moderators lock this thread and all discussions can move over to the guide to keep everything in one place?

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

Awesome it is good to see progress made. I don't know why but I shudder when I hear anything to do with Voodo on OS X. They are not native and all the experiences I have had with using Voodo stuff always resulted in instability and kernal panics. I definitely recommend looking at native...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

I was doing some more research into this restart instead of shutdown problem. Apparently it is fixed by adding the following to Config.plist: <key>Fixes</key> <dict> <key>FixShutdown_0004</key> <true/> </dict> or <key>SlpSmiAtWake</key> <true> It adds SLP_SMI_EN=0 at every wake. It may...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

These are all syntax errors i.e. formatting problems with the SSDT. Look at the video here (Youtube Video). I know it is a slightly different error but I believe that this would fix your problem. Try it out.

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

Don't apologise I defintely agree with you that DSDT and SSDT patches are daunting. I have little experience myself and I like to think this forum is accommodating to people learning how to hackintosh. That is all part of the fun and working together to get our laptops working is great. Nothing...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

NO NO NO NO NO! Seriously though you really shouldn't take a work in progress hackintosh and use it for your work unless you have another OS i.e. Windows 10 or Linux on hand. In terms of you saying it has been successfully sleeping it doesn't seem to have the correct power management setup yet...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

First off well done you are making amazing progress and Also to the tonymacx86 team the new design is great! Anyway the "Unknown video card" is caused by your partial blocking of optimus. That should disappear after you correctly patch it. Sleep and wake being too long is linked to power...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

According to https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/commit/2c674fac5b1603c6a2aacc88116e3fbc75ebd799 "0x10ec0298, 0x1028, 0, "ALC3266" " ALC3266 is an alias by Dell for ALC298 which from this code "codec_variant = ALC269_TYPE_ALC298" Seems to be based of ALC269 which has a patch from here...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

Firstly welcome to tonymacx86.com you have come to the right place for assistance. I am going to have to give you some bad news you may have to revert one of your upgrades :( The wireless card you have switched out the Broadcom one is natively compatible with OS X meanwhile if my memory serves...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

That is great news. Remember before patching the DSDT/SSDT to update to the latest BIOS/UEFI. Current version is 01.02.00 A06 http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=KTR76 Updating the UEFI BIOS fixes lots of problems with the laptop especially BIOS UEFI 1.1.15...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

Well done for getting full acceleration (qe/ci) without the DVMT patches :D That is why they were necessary but you managed to get it working with the Skylake patch :D. Is this on a 1080p Monitor or the 4k UHD screen though as that is important obviously! In terms of getting bluetooth working I...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

I gave up when I bricked my XPS 9550. You have managed to get further than I have gotten so well done! And thanks RehabMan for your help and assistance on hackintoshing on laptops. It is appreciated. I would be interested if the-darkvoid could assist with the XPS 9550 as he has done such a good...

    XPS 9550 OSX 10.11.4 full supported ?

I was reading this thread and it is important to note this when I attempted to change the DVMT prealloc using the EFI Shell method it completely bricked the XPS 9550 so do not change the DVMT preallocation! Luckily Dell replaced my XPS 9550 but I will never do BIOS/UEFI mods again without a flasher!

[GUIDE] Intel HD Graphics 5500 on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

I thought I would let everyone know not to attempt using EFI shell on the Dell XPS 9550. From my research I had to use Universal BIOS Dumper to get the ROM and found out it is a modified version of an AMI UEFI. I used the EFI shell to change the DVMT to 128MB (Default is 64MB for anyone...
