Thanks Macsure and bluskale for your help, anything you come up with would be much appreciated. I ended up installing Windows 7 tonight and sleep is working perfectly in Windows 7... so I'm pretty sure now that my motherboard is not defective. I guess this board might have a few more things...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

Yes thanks for your help... I have done multiple fresh installs to blank drives and still have the same results, this motherboard has been the hardest one I have tried when it comes to sleep. It will only sleep for about 5 seconds and then it wakes up, and if you shut down... it will simply...

    Requesting Detailed H67N-USB3/Lion/HD3000 Guide Please!!!

Thanks for your help, I do always run system utilities via multi-beast, I was just being brief. I've been building hacks for quite sometime now, and I am good with the basics, but I've been having way more problems than normal with this motherboard and HD3000. I will try the audio install via...

    Requesting Detailed H67N-USB3/Lion/HD3000 Guide Please!!!

Yes I did, and HDMI is working but no sound via HDMI or output jacks on motherboard. I've tried Tony's HDMI setup too with his pre-edited DSDT and AppleHDA files... sleep isn't working reliably either. Is there anything that should be install beyound a basic UserDSDT install via Multibeast...

    Requesting Detailed H67N-USB3/Lion/HD3000 Guide Please!!!

I've been getting unreliable results based on Tony's setup with this motherboard? I'm running off HD3000 (from 2600K) via the F7 bios and dsdt and I have also been testing Tony's custom HDMI dsdt for this setup. My system boot's, but experiences randam slow downs and sound has only worked...

GIGABYTE GA-H55-USB3 Pro Tools HD Build!

The ARK 4U-500-CA is a fantastic case for a PT HD rig, I have it setup with an HD3 system on a H55-USB3. Good temps and plenty of space. The case is "intel" compatible as your motherboard choice is. Since you are using an H55-USB3 (1156 socket) with an intel CPU, it will all be intel and no...

Please critique my Protools HD build

When I said chasis, I mean't the "case" for your computer build, many of them don't quite hold the length of the ProTools HD cards. I personally have done a few builds in this server chasis, that worked out really well, it's 4u and has decent air flow for a rackmount...

    Hackintosh Build For Music Production

Your build for music production looks really nice, and as far as the GPU goes... the easiest would be a 9800gt in my opinion. You also might want to get a 2nd internal data drive so you can get a proper track count going. That's it, go buy it :-)

Please critique my Protools HD build

OOPSS!!! I typed that "N" by a mistake... it's actually just the normal GA-H55-USB3, better go back and edit that response. Sorry about that. Here's a link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128437 It has the 3 pci slots you need back to back, perfect for a ProTools...

    Apogee duet firewire audio interface!

Any gigabyte board with firewire that has a DSDT file listed here from tonymac will be totally stable with the apogee duet and siimilar in performance to a current Imac, depending on which processor you get. Here's a user build from this forum that fits your requirements easily, the...

Please critique my Protools HD build

If you are building Protools HD systems to run OSX, that are PCI/PCIx based... you must go with GA-H55-USB3 motherboard. I have built at least 5 of these setups and they are fantastic with that motherboard, totally stable... I have done endless work hours on them and I can vouch for their...

Proposed ProTools HD Sandy Bridge Hack

Another option would be to get a cheap older PCI-based magma chasis on ebay, probably run you about $200... that way you would only need one pci slot on your motherboard. Works just as well as 3 internal slots and opens up a lot of options in terms of which chasis and form factor you might want...

    GA-H55M-S2V......No ethernet......No sound

I don't have anything in "System Preferences>Sound>Output".... I'm thinking it might be the DSDT too. I don't really need it, because most the sound is for music recording through an Mbox (via USB), but if anyone figures it out... that would be great!

    GA-H55M-S2V......No ethernet......No sound

I have been doing an install on the same motherboard (GA-H55M-S2V) and it was easy to get everything working, except I still can't get sound going. I've done a number of installs based on all the different versions of multibeast and never had any issues, any ideas... I'm sure I haven't done...

Shuttle SH55-J2 H55 1156 ITX on the cheap

Thought this was interesting, it has both pcie and pci expansion, which is unusual for an ITX system and it is 1156 based. Perhaps it could be snow leopard ready, nice thing is that it's only $230 for everything at newegg. If anyone gives it a try, please post your results.
