1.8 GHz i3.
No SATA. Just mini PCIe.
Single 1333 MHz SODIMM slot. With a single slot the support for dual-channel is laughable. So although it says max memory is 16 GB you'll be hard-pressed to find any. Until they exist you're looking at 8 GB.
For US$290 certainly an interesting beast, but "Ideal"?
With USB 3 could get close to SATA iii speeds. ( 5gb/sec)
Cost $300 + mem $20 + drive card $100.
Estimate $450 total
Mac mini $600
I would wait and see if other models or revisions appear.
It does include VESA mount.
That is nice the heat from LCD/TV helps keep it hotter.
Case is plastic and aluminum. Plastic is insulator;this helps to keep even more heat in.
Case should be all aluminum.
Tonymac had a thread on this prior to release.
Who knows somebody brave may try it.
