One Day Old Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H Shut Down During Mavericks Installation - Won't Restart

This is getting absolutely ridiculous now.

Went and picked up a brand new RM650 from Microcenter. Popped it in and everything booted up perfectly. I was able to get back into Mavericks, etc.

I opened up the Tonymac website, and the computer immediately shut off again by itself. When I tried to boot it up, fans spun for a second then sputtered out. Won't start at all.

I'm at a total loss.

Well, the good news is that you have probably eliminated the PSU as the source of the problem.
The bad news is, you have introduced another element - The Hard Drive / SSD.

I don't think it's the RAM.

I would check the CPU and socket for bent pins - Reseat it at least.

I had a faulty stock CPU fan right out of the box once.

Good Luck

You need to be methodical.

Don't keep switching parts, you'll only complicate the situation and if / when it works you won't know for sure what was causing the problem.

One thing at a time and test after each change, however slight.

Yes, it can still be the motherboard.

Good Luck

If you've tried it with a different stick of RAM I think your next step is to RMA the motherboard.

Likely motherboard or faulty PSU. Defective CPU is rare (although it happens, as my prior experience proves).

Could a bad SSD (boot drive) cause the computer to just shut down like it did?

I have never seen it with a SSD but I have seen it with a hard drive so I guess the answer is yes, maybe.
