Update Directly to macOS Mojave

Hi there.

Do you still have your original bootable USB Installer stick? If so you can use this to boot your system.

I have discovered newer versions of Clover are unable to boot High Sierra 10.13.6 + the latest Security Updates. I had to change to OpenCore. But, obviously you can go back to an earlier version of Clover if that still works.

:)
I finally managed to update to Mojave. Thank you for the advice. I don't know if others had this issue but my system keeps on restarting. Sometimes it works sometimes not. I have no idea how I can have this weird starting. Do you how I can fix this ?

Good idea using your MacBook

I've kept working on Clover to get it to reliably boot, and have now figured it out - SATA issues. However I don't get the crashes you mention.

Have you checked the crash logs?

Have you checked system temperatures? Overheating can cause reboots.

Did you use the App Store version of Mojave or a direct download?

:)

Again I thank you very much for your kindness.
I'll give a second try, with the last version of Mojave but not now. I had one installer from mojave from a while. I don't recall if it's one of the official mojave installer from my macbook or if it's a different one.

I spend a full day to update it and the late hours of this night to make everything running (logic pro plug ins etc...) till it crashes. One thing I've done that can be maybe the source of my problems with mojave, is that I upgraded my bootdrive not internally but externally (with as USB 3 SATA SSD helper). Then I put the drive internally, maybe this has no link.
I wasn't able to reach the crash logs, so I decided for now to stay on high sierra, as also some plugins I use with Logic were not recognize.

Maybe one last question if you know the answer. I plan to change my computer for a better CPU. I would like to take a

Intel Core i9-12900K (3.2 GHz / 5.2 GHz)

I would like to know if the clover installation with unibeast or just a clone of my drive on the new machine can make everything work with just better CPU ?

Thank you for everything

Good news that you have at least got back to a stable system.

The i9-12900K and Z690 motherboards, being Alder Lake, are going to be tricky. The best place on the Internet to go to learn is our resident expert @CaseySJ over at his Golden Build page:

He and a group of members have dedicated a lot of time configuring the new system, but it is still not for the faint-hearted. If you want to go that route, then take a look.

hello I try to update my high sierra to mojave directly. I'm pretty dumb. My progress bar seems frozen at the beginning after launching the OS boot install of my SSD. How can I have the "verbose" mode to start? so that I post here a photo of the line or it seems blocked? thank you (i update clover towards 4630...).

Try pressing the CMD+V keys when you are at the OpenCore menu.

If you are using Clover then press the SpaceBar while at the drive selection menu and select the Verbose option.

:)

Essayez d'appuyer sur les touches CMD+V lorsque vous êtes dans le menu OpenCore.

Si vous utilisez Clover, appuyez sur la barre d'espace dans le menu de sélection du lecteur et sélectionnez l'option Verbose.

:)

Serial ports should be disabled in the BIOS settings.
