Sweet! I don't see an attachment so I imagine you mean the EFi on page one? I am familiar with USB re-mapping so that's no problem

Thank you!!
Yes, the most recent iteration of the EFI in this thread is what I was mentioning. Disable SSDT-USBW.aml and re-map using standard processes, or if you have your own done already, just sub that in.

Several of us had some issues booting Monterey versions newer than 12.0.1 using the FakeSMC.kext and plugins in the EFI - if you also happen to have issues, replace with VirtualSMC and plugins.

I’m going to try again tonight but I disabled all of the non-essential SSDTs and kept getting the access denied circle trying to boot 10.15.7.

Any other tips?

I tried so many iterations on both Catalina and Monterey installers. I always get the death circle after it stays stuck on BRCMPatchRam or IOUSBHost Interface for a handful of seconds.

Any thoughts?

Hello.

No need to post in the Monterey Beta thread. The full version has been available for 7-months. Setup your own problem thread in Monterey Desktop Support.

The error you are seeing is usually the inability to read a boot device. Often this can mean the USB port you are using has become deactivated.

You say you a familiar with USB mapping so let us know how/what you have done on that score.

If we rule out USB then another likely issue is security settings. Check the setting for SecureBootMode.

After that it may be the version of OpenCore you are using with relation the Monterey version point you have downloaded.

:)

Copy - will do. I was posting because this thread hosts the EFIs I’m adoption.
But to wrap up here, I’ve tried with 0.7.9 and 0.7.8 and both 10.15.7 and 12.3.1. Secureboot Model Disabled, and I’ve disabled the various USB SSDTs and tried both USBInjectAll and the XHCIPortLimit patch. I haven’t mapped the ports since I haven’t gotten into the installer but I suppose I could map them in the current 10.13.6 setup?

0.8.0 is the latest:

Wow I just got to the installer using a USB 2.0 port! Does this confirm that I need to map my ports to use any of the 3.0?

you will always need to map your ports after installation

best to do in Catalina as XhciPortLimit is broken in later versions of macOS

Right but I am having the 'circle of death' issue PRE installation using USBInjectAll with ANY USB 3.0 port

best to use usb2.0 port and a usb2.0 usb stick for installation
