Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Right, try this. Delete alcid=13 in your NVRAM boot-args and go to your Realtek PCIRoot device properties which should be under PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3)

You will need to add:

key: layout-id
value: 13
type: NUMBER

Save the file and reboot and reset the NVRAM using ResetSystem.efi (press space bar at the Opencore boot prompt if the command isn't showing). That 'may' resolve the issue (because I think there is an audio bug in Monterey/OC) - let us know if it works.

Ok thank you, I will try that. It was working fine initially, then I updated BIOS to latest, and it started giving me problems. So I figured it may be the BIOS update. However, I flashed BIOS to original, and it's still giving me issues.

Is anyone using this board with an Apple TBD? If so, are you using the built-in maple ridge or a flash titan ridge card?

** OpenCore 0.8.0 Notice **

Please do not upgrade to OpenCore 0.8.0 using HackinDROM at this time. It will lead to a boot failure. OpenCore Configurator (OCC) 2.59.0.0 (latest release) is not compatible with the release version of 0.8.0 so we need to wait for the next version.

I'll provide an OpenCore 0.8.0 mini-guide once OCC has been updated.

Update: The new guide is located here:

Any idea why it leads to boot failure?

I've been trying to figure this out. The boot process hangs after SuperIO (SMCSuperIO) initializes, but this can be misleading. The real problem can be somewhere else.

I'll remove serial numbers from the non-working EFI folder and post it here shortly...

Could you please post also the working EFI ?

I've attached two ZIP files:
  • EFI - 080 HACKINDROM - NO SERIALS.zip
    • This version was created by HackinDROM app by upgrading from 0.7.9
    • This leads to boot failure after SuperIO log message is displayed on screen (in Verbose mode)
  • EFI - 079 - NO SERIALS.zip
    • This is the working OpenCore 0.7.9 folder
    • The first file above is the result of running HackinDROM on this folder

Have you tried to boot to 0.8.0 with a manually updated OC EFI ?
Im not sure the issue is coming from VirtualSMC & co
